Evolution of Grindcore (1985-2023)

Grindcore is a subgenre of extreme metal and hardcore punk, grindcore is known for its intensely chaotic and aggressive sound. It is defined by a variety of intense techniques, such as sixteenth-note blast and skank beats, down-tuned guitars that alternate between groovier down-picked sections and tremolo-picked power chords, and vocal styles that range from grating screams and shrieks to loud shouts and growls. Grindcore is notorious for its radically reduced song structures, with the majority of songs shorter than a minute.
