I am a green woodworker and don't use a single power tool. I find that I always try to make things to look natural.

"Be curious, not critical," is dangerous. Constructive criticism is being curious. Constructive criticism is finding solutions. Constructive criticism is having a healthy outlook on improvement.

Not all criticism is bad. Without it we cannot improve. Not all curiosity is productive. There needs to be a balance between the two lenses, or else it teeters into useless play or self destruction rather than progress.
