DON’T be alarmed if you see a convoy of motorcycle cops traversing Tasmania’s roads.
The group is merely doing a skills course to become fully fledged riders.
Members of the Road and Public Order Services will gain practical skills as part of a combined motorcycle and motorcycle instructors’ course.
Six officers from all districts, including five men and a woman, are doing the course.
If successful, they will become unrestricted police motorcyclists by March.
The female police officer is vying for the honour of becoming only the second female operational motorcyclist with Tasmania Police.
