The part of the Church on a sickbed, dear siblings, has tried to eat the unleavened bread in Egypt! Salvation doctrine itself is ruined in many (just, ..many..) churches, and they're all focused on sanctification with Christ's great saving work a mere symbol and metaphor for their self-renewal in one of a myriad of classic Pagan formats, and that's all it is to those leaders, with starving siblings confused in the crowd. 1 Corinthians 15:1-8 and Romans 10:9-14a is the dividing line between Worldling and we whom Christ saves. Pass it along!

When Jesus was killed, the "sabbath drawing nigh" was an annual Holy Day from sunset Wednesday to sunset Thursday (Day 1) when everybody worshipped in their temples...... Sunset Thursday to sunset Friday was Day 2, an ordinary workday when they bought up spices.... and sunset Friday to sunset Saturday was Day 3, the weekly Sabbath when everybody worshipped, for a total of exactly 72 hours in the tomb. (3 hemera and 3 nykti in Greek or 3 days and 3 nights, read Matthew 12 verse 40). Jesus was resurrected at sunset Saturday after 3 days and 3 nights like Jonah. There is NO verse in the Bible that says Jesus was resurrected on Sunday... We need to pray for Knowledge, Understanding, and Wise-dom, and read the Bible slowly, so that we are not deceived by others.

WorldWide Church of God kept those Biblical Holy Days and many of its offshoots still do.... No Easter/Ishtar, no Christ Mass etc.

A very interesting look at the Jewish feasts and their significance to the first and second coming. Allen Parr is a gifted communicator and always worth a listen. I parted company however when we came to the rapture/premillennial view. That is now taken as orthodox escatology (perhapsparticularly in the US) but to me and others it has so many problems (too many and complex to discuss in a comment), that I would encourage fellow believers to explore the Amillennialist arguments and there might just be no rapture/earthly 1000 year reign, but a sound, scriptually based alternative and historic view.

It's exactly why we should be celebrating the Holy Feast Days and not the pagan holidays. All the Feast Days point to Yeshua. This is what convinced me years ago to stop Sunday worship and keep the Sabbath and Feast Days Holy. He's coming soon!

As a Christian who is new to deep diving… why don’t we celebrate Passover in remembrance of him but just communion and Easter? Why don’t we celebrate other Jewish holidays he does? Just curious… actually reading his word makes me wonder. I read Roman’s about celebrating holidays of our time and culture is fine if we do so for the glory of God but why don’t we keep the God given holidays spelled out in the Bible? I just wish to know. Same thing with sabbath…. I’m learning

We should always be drawing these parallels! Judaism is our base "religion" the things of Judaism did not go away, the holidays set in place by God etc. Now it seems we honor pagan holidays and treat christianity and judaism is different religions or something weird. Almost like jesus was just a jew that started some new religion. Christianity just means little christs, Christianity is simply a continuition of God and his peoples journey only now his people are the gentiles and jews in the same body, those that accept jesus as the messiah. I think its really important we shine light on this and educate ourselves so we know our roots, our people and our God. We should be praying for our jewish brothers and sisters who do not yet accept jesus christ just as we pray for those gentiles in our lives that reject Jesus.
