AVANT-GARDE ART: From Modernism to Postmodernism

The postmodern condition, with its polemics against the Enlightenment, its critique of the authoritative monopoly of science, and its obsessive interest in alternative forms of narration, brings about new changes in art and artistic expression. A postmodern paradigm in art, first manifested in architecture, reveals a significant differentiation within a work of art. In this video presentation, I will discuss how the transition from modern to postmodern times has influenced avant-garde art, its styles and techniques.
