Usable video! The book by Yuriy Ivantsiv “ Polyglot Notes. Practical Tips for Learning Foreign Language” had a profound impact on me, opening new horizons of understanding the diversity of languages and cultures. The author's ideas that learning foreign languages not only broadens one's horizons but also contributes to spiritual development became a real revelation for me. I realized that every language is not just a system of signs, but a whole world with its history, traditions and way of life. Thanks to this book, I learned to see language learning as a path to self-discovery and a deeper understanding of others, which in turn enriched my worldview. Inspired by Ivantsiv's approach, I became more conscious of my learning, integrating the author's practical advice into my daily life. This opened up opportunities for me not only to improve my language skills, but also to develop a personal philosophy based on mutual understanding and empathy. Immersing myself in languages has allowed me to see the world from different angles and realize the importance of cultural exchange, which has been the foundation for my spiritual growth. Reading this book and applying its advice has helped me to become a more open and tolerant person who seeks harmony in my relationships with others.

I'm a very slow learner and I want to learn Turkish. I'm more of a reality escapist so it's hard for me to have interest in things. what's the best way for someone like me who is way below average level.
Also would appreciate if you could let me know the prompt you can use to learn the language when using chatgpt.

DENİZ TÜRKÜSÜ

Dolu rüzgârla çıkıp ufka giden yelkenli!
Gidişin seçtiğin akşam saatinden belli.
Ömrünün geçtiği sahilden uzaklaştıkça
Ve hayâlinde doğan âleme yaklaştıkça,
Dalga kıvrımları ardında büyür tenhâlık
Başka bir çerçevedir, git gide dünyâ artık.
Daldığın mihveri, gittikçe, sarar başka ziyâ;
Mâvidir her taraf, üstün gece, altın deryâ...

Yol da benzer hem uzun, hem de güzel bir masala
O saatler ki geçer başbaşa yıldızlarla.
Lâkin az sonra lezîz uyku bir encâma varır;
Hilkatin gördüğü rü'yâ biter, etrâf ağarır.
Som gümüşten sular üstünde, giderken ileri
Tâ uzaklarda şafak bir bir açar perdeleri...
Mûsıkîsiyle bir âlem kesilir çalkantı;
Ve nihâyet görünür gök ve deniz saltanatı.

Girdiğin aynada, geçmiş gibi dîğer küreye,
Sorma bir sâniye, şüpheyle, sakın: "Yol nereye?"
Ayılıp neş'eni yükseltici sarhoşluktan,
Yılma korkunç uçurum zannedilen boşluktan
Duy tabîatte biraz sen de ilâh olduğunu,
Rûh erer varlığının zevkine duymakla bunu.

Çıktığın yolda, bugün, yelken açık, yapyalnız,
Gözlerin arkaya çevrilmeyerek, pervâsız,
Yürü! Hür mâviliğin bittiği son hadde kadar!...

İnsan, âlemde hayâl ettiği müddetçe yaşar.

hi, i just saw that you mentioned Assimil to start learning a language and actually i see many people who can learn a language with this course. i tried it me too, but i cant see effectively any progress (i tried russian, german and hungarian) and at the end i started to learn them with Pimsleur, with which i started really to talk. id like to know where is my fault not to being able to learn with assimil that would be a great resource for me too. just reading, repeating and doing excercises one lesson per day half an hour per day? id really like to understand the "trick" to be able to enjoy that course. thanks in advance

You are very impressive. Your way to learn languages, is very different from mine. Your English has a Chinese color. Your Turkish is impressively good. You're understanding of grammar is way better than the Turkish average natives. O You must be really extraordinary smart. Crazy, you speak all the languages I speak, just grammatically better. I am very impressed. Because my learning way of languages is completely different.

And I am learning Turkish and have never been to Türkiye... :( In fact, I haven't been anywhere abroad for several years.
For financial reasons too, I started with learning alone exclusively. No courses, no teachers, no money except for textbooks and dictionaries. The downside is that it took a lot of time until I actually dared to speak Turkish and I still struggle with, particularly, understanding spoken language. (And I'm picky with watching content, because... I tried watching the historical series "Magnificent Century" and, as an asexual woman, I felt traumatised by the plot of kidnapped Slavic girls being transported to the harem. I would honestly prefer death to harem life.) As for language exchange, I discovered Conversation Exchange and I like it. So far this is all for me, within my modest financial capabilities. I won't let lacking money or my mom's view that I should learn "useful" things keep me from learning just for knowledge. I find linguistic diversity fascinating, I am very interested in linguistics in general, but actually, my passion began with my fascination with Turkish psychedelic rock, I was hooked the moment I heard Erkin Koray's "Meçhul"...
