ОтветитьI am in undergrad and I want to be a lawyer, but a law firm reached out to me with a paralegal position. - Would this be something good for me?
ОтветитьWhat’s your salary?
ОтветитьThank you, this really helped me feel like my decision was the right one! I switched my major from communications and I too loved and wasn’t bad at law when I took those classes. Definitely made me decide to switch and think about what I want long term and what kind of job I’d like.
ОтветитьGreat video!
ОтветитьAwesome video. Thoroughly explained!
ОтветитьI'm a displaced worker from a work accident that left me with a disabled leg and no ability to be in manual labor anymore. So I'm looking at this degree as a replacement experience.
ОтветитьThank you so much for sharing your story! That was really awesome.

ОтветитьHey. Wanted to ask about working as a paralegal full time and attending part time law school. Is it possible? Also is the entry level pay for paralegals great?
ОтветитьI’m looking to become a paralegal. I am a little nervous on starting into this field. Because I am hearing so much things between going to school for it and getting my associate’s degree or an apprenticeship. Not too sure if I should go into a paralegal studies program at my community college…anyone can give some advice?
ОтветитьI’m curious about immigration law, but this was still interesting. I wish you good luck in your journey.
ОтветитьJust found your channel and you have such a vibrant personality!! I was like ooo I would love to be her friend! lol. Thank you for this content! definitely hopeful as I'm looking into the paralegal field!!! Thank you!
ОтветитьDid you say numbers :) in personal injury.
Ok.
I always wanted be a lawyer, I’m too old now (I’m 43)😩But I love the law! I love the debates /arguments etc lol. I am researching to become a Paralegal now. Grateful for your transparency on this career subject. My only fear is not being hired (due to no Paralegal experience. I am terrified of that).
Thank you, Hugs!🤗
JM
this video is wonderful and answered pretty much all the questions i had. thanks a million! 🍻🍻
ОтветитьHave you made any updates?
ОтветитьI think its great you are able to leave work at work.... I lost that ability after year 3 and im on year 8 now... lol
ОтветитьPeace.
I'm probably one of the few black men doing this, so I feel compelled to write. I am a Business Law major at Arizona State University and I'm taking a paralegal certificate program, both of which are online. In my market, Pittsburgh, it seems like they want you to have gone through a program. I've applied to several entry-level positions that offered training. I have had no luck getting a position. I would vlog but I don't have the time. My goal is to become a Real Estate Attorney or M&A, just so long as I'm doing some sort of business law. I don't want to go into civil litigation. Great video. If you want to make decent $ and don't mind doing research, this is for you. Be easy!
you are so prettyyyyy omg. Hi, I just graduated with my degree in political science ! I just got a new job working as a paralegal/legal assistant for a private firm working on litigation, fraud, and privacy cases ! I am taking a little time off to save and study for the LSAT, then I will be applying to law school!
ОтветитьHi, do you get comp time in lieu of overtime pay?
ОтветитьSr. Litigation Paralegal with over 10 years experience here. You are adorable but I’m screaming at my screen because 1. You have to work on your communication skills and this is a problem with a lot of young paralegals. I counted 8 major grammar errors or pronunciation errors. Secondly, the job you are describing sounds like a pre-litigation case manager or legal assistant. Working in litigation ( like Rachel)is completely different and most of my colleagues have not just a bachelor’s degree and Paralegal certificate, we also have Master’s degrees. Our pay is double what you were taking about. Average here in Dallas for instance is $85-$106 thousand a year plus bonuses and benefits. As far as hours go, we work until the work is finished. I regularly take work home with me and if we’ve got a trial that week we work a lot of hours. What separates the highly paid Litigation Paralegals from the “legal assistants” and “case managers” is education, professionalism, appearance, and experience. One can get hired with tattoos and piercings and poor grammar but one will not be taken to court looking like that and speaking badly. My advice for all young aspiring paralegals is to work on your professional appearance (look like a lawyer) and keep going to school. Also Paralegals are not “licensed” they are board certified in their field. Here in Texas we have a division of the state bar for Paralegals who have education and or years of experience. They offer the classes you need to become board certified. Every firm is different and they pay accordingly. To work at the top, to be a “Rachel Zane” like my colleagues and I, you need to be able to research, you need superlative drafting skills, and you need to be able to speak proper English. Using the excuse of “this is how people in my culture speak.” Will keep you at a $45k salary. I really come from a place of encouragement, it’s so frustrating to see really great young people not get that and end up not getting the salary they deserve or seeing them apply and apply and never get hired by a major firm. After 4 years of college $45k is fine for a couple of years but if you want to move up in this field you have to keep learning and keep improving yourself. Best luck to everyone! It’s really a great career, I love coming to work everyday. ❤😊
ОтветитьI have been looking for a legal assistant position for 2 months. I think my accent is a problem 😔
ОтветитьI am just thinking out of the box here looking for a job in the comment section bc I know many attorneys are here- I want to work as a legal assistant. If anyone can give me the chance, please share your email so I can forward my CV. Thank you.
ОтветитьCurrently going to school to major in the medical field i don’t think it is the right fit for me.
ОтветитьAbsolutely love the video because we have the same plan!
ОтветитьGlad i found this video, ive yarned the entire time made me realize i need to stick to nursing
ОтветитьWhich firm are you doing your paralegal please? I’m looking for business/corporate paralegal jobs too?
ОтветитьI am surprised to hear you’re an exempt employee. I wonder if that’s still the same as of today. Traditionally paralegals are hourly. And should be to earn their overtime! Great video!
ОтветитьI am getting a degree in criminal justice and then wanting to do this !
ОтветитьI am getting a degree in criminal justice and then wanting to do this !
ОтветитьDoes paralegal courses teach you how to prepare divorce and bankruptcy paperwork?
ОтветитьI always wanted to be a lawyer but that’s never going to happen. I didn’t even know a paralegal was a thing until Suits and now I’m interested 😅
ОтветитьYou are brilliant! Thank you for sharing!
Ответить1.) Deadlines, 2.) Attention to Details.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing. ❤
ОтветитьWHIT
ОтветитьAmazing video!!!! You really hit the important questions!!!! Thank you 🤙🏾❤
ОтветитьI have been a paralegal for 28 years. I have done criminal defense, was a Social Security Disability Representative, Personal Injury, and now litigation defense. Although this field will, to some degree, improve your standard of living, there is no future in it. Lawyers are pampas a$$holes.....especially PI attorneys who lie, steal, and have a generally low degree of character. Think hard before jumping into this field. If I could take it all back, I would have built a business so to avoid being an undervalued slave.
ОтветитьOmg sis ! lol I tooo solidified my decision to become a paralegal because of Rachel Zane!
I’ve been to college twice and dropped out each time. I love to learn but I need something that will stimulate my mind and the law just seems perfect. It’s so much to do and learn seems never ending. I appreciate this video because I now will focus on what kind of law I want to do. I never seen myself being an activist but I love to speak so I guess I just have to figure it out.
I really needed to watch this video. Thank you so much 🩵
ОтветитьI am currently going to school for Paralegal studies. I've made the deans list three times and in this field failure is not an option for me. I want to pursue criminal cases, and looking to start a summer internship because I am soooo scared to jump into the law firm. I want to become an attorney as well, and hopefully go further to be a supreme Court Justice (big dreams). I'm glad I stumbled across this video, because now I can breath a sigh of relief about finding a job in the law firm. Once I graduate in April 2025 I don't have any intention on stopping at being a paralegal. As soon as I am able I will be re enrolling in school until I get to law school and take my bar. Thank you so much. I'm 27 so I started kind of late, but when I tell you I'm pushing myself like crazy, it's amazing how far I have come. Thanks again for the video I really needed this ❤
ОтветитьI want to be a paralegal assistant but I want training first before I apply
ОтветитьOkay! I graduate in October 2024 and I am not sure how to get my career started. I will have an associate degree in paralegal legal studies and plan to continue with legal studies to obtain my bachelor's degree. My confidence is there, and my knowledge is growing every day. I just need to figure out how applications and interviews go. That is why I am here.
ОтветитьAre u in canada?
