ОтветитьThanks. for this I tried to make LAB from milk and washed rice water but the curds were to sloppy and I couldn't then separate the lactic acid out! (this was for a sick chicken) Now I know I could have given her some of my veggie salt pickle juice or some kefir??

I always love your videos but I want to correct your mistake. Pickled and fermenting is two different things. I know what you meant but someone new will start to eat pickled food that are with high vinger (not bad) but it was boiled and killing some good bacteria not like fermenting the traditional ways. So I think you should left out the pickled word and only say ferment foods.
Pickled dont need to be in a fridge after fermenting is done .
Fermenting foods need to be in the fridge after fermenting.

ОтветитьI thought Kombucha is primarily acetic acid like vinegar due to the sugar base rather than lactic acid, which is usually started with salt or brine with the exception of fermented dairy, of course.
