I don't get how brink has a good story, if there really isn't one at all.

I personally liked listening to them and it is something, but it by no means is a work of genius I will admit. Games like Metro2033, Bioshock, and Bastion have it beat. And as you can tell I was really in fanboy mode when I wrote the description. I just get a bit sensitive over Brink as you could tell by my other comments. And thanks for not disliking it like other people who came here from my comments

Such a shame the game was horribly bugged at release. After all, first impressions are everything and Brink tripped and fell on day one.

I really wish they could continue the story. But given how much the game bombed and damn near killed Splash Damage...i am not too sure it can return.

I'm glad you made this. I felt like the audio logs could have made the game as they claimed it, full story and all if they had stuck to their promises.. I was going to download the game again and see if steam synced my save files. Thanks!

It's not that it has a shit story. The story was poorly told.

Man this story is the best between 2 factions. The scary part is that the U.S. is planning on building their own Ark just in case the tsunamis and floods reach a breaking point of destruction worldwide. I bet this story will reflect on us in a few years.

You have to think of it this way the ark isn't going to stay afloat forever not without outside help. Resources are dwindling and in order to stay afloat they will need help. I understand Securities goal to maintain order but what's the point in maintaining order if there's nothing to maintain order over? It's either agree with the resistance right away and try to get outside help or maintain order and wait until the ark starts to sink and then reach out for help either way the resistance is right.

They need to remake this story and art into a new concept, possibly only single player. I think in 2019 it has been long enough to forget the bad reception that was Brink 1. Truly under valued content in story and art form here though.

This is one of the few games that has taken modern political issues (immigration, global warming/flooding, disparages between right and left wing parties, upper and lower class divisions, etc.) and actually did it right. It doesn't feel like one side is right or wrong... It's just... A bad situation where different people fall on different sides.

I personally always sided with Security and do disagree with the Resistance, but I understand where they come from. And ultimately, in a perfect version of this world, there would be a way to make both sides happy... But it's not. This game does such a great job at mirroring our world and how realistically the people and political figures would act in real life.

Some have to lie to get results, even if that result is for the better of others (Chen and the Founders both do this by dodging issues so they don't lose political ground, but it's for the greater good it seems).

Stuff like this just make this very okay shooter (which I do enjoy immensely) to something special. Even if the story is just told througj audiologs and a multiplayer campaign.

As someone who's been playing this game for years, it certainly had a cool story underneath, but the overlaying story really wasn't amazing in my opinion, and literally only having 8 actors in the entire game made the cutscenes feel so small.

I remember the opening. The woman who voice the story gripped me right away! "...the new guest live in slums... desease...will you save the ark...or exscape it"

The main reason I prefer security is because Mokoena hitting the pillar with his baton so hard that it fucking crumbled is the most badass thing I've ever seen

10 years ago, this game is still one of the underrated games of this generation.

Macleod wanted to survive, but he found the Ark.

Chen wanted to save the Ark, but then he wants to escape it.

Mokoena wanted to maintain order, but is conflicted with his loyalties to the founders and his soldiers.

Habib wanted to stay home, but now, the Ark is his only home.

Elmhurst wanted to rebuild relations, but instead, it only intensified her hatred.

Adebayo wanted change for himself and his fellow guests, but he became a part of the change.

These people, each with their own side of the same story, are very interesting. And they help us understand the setting and the horrors within that setting.

The story is established but not elaborated save for the logs. The gameplay is incomplete. But the characters and setting were fully developed. Wished they could continue on with the lore, the only thing that got me interested in BRINK. The game may be bad, but I'm not ashamed when I say that I'm proud to be a BRINK player. Even after 9 years since the game came out, BRINK will always have a place in my memories.

This REALLY needs a remake or sequel

Chen is caring, but also a lunatic, whereas Mokoena is wizened, but also a boor.

I could see this as a Netflix show. Animated or live action

I paid 60$ and preordered this game 😅 in hindsight I should have waited literally two weeks and bought it for 5$
