Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi, affectionately known as Baba-e-COMSATS, founded COMSATS University Islamabad in 1998 with a vision of excellence in teaching and research. His leadership transformed COMSATS into a leading institute in Pakistan. Driven by integrity and honesty, he earned the trust of many. His values, including openness, fairness, and consistency, shaped the institution's culture. Beyond academic excellence, he emphasized students' personal development. Recognized with prestigious national awards such as "Hilal-i-Imtiaz" in year 2014 & "Sitara-i-Imtiaz" back in 2007, his life exemplifies extraordinary service. Dr. Zaidi is the unsung hero of the entire COMSATS family.
