Wow, I love your work, these are really cute!
I think you’re doing it for convenience, but the width of your packing tape I’m pretty sure is enough to accommodate the width of each sticker. In order to not have tape joins within each sticker, just orient the tape and stickers vertically and there won’t be a problem.

Also so many people like to use a lot of stickers in their journals/planners, and if you use card stock for each one things will get bulky fast. Personally I would do them on paper, or lay down and burnish a layer of packing tape on the back, then remove the tape with a layer of the paper. You may want to do it twice even.
