Thank you!!! This info saved my cornbread! I didn’t have baking powder and had already mixed most of the ingredients so there was no turning back. After watching this video. I added 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 cup butter milk to the other liquids and a tsp white vinegar and it came out perfect!!! Who knew???
Thanks again! 💯💯💯

ОтветитьWhy my dough is not rising with Baking Powder. Over the years I have tried using Baking powder but it failed to rise the dough. So I have been using yeast which gives me an excellent dough. I am trying Baking Powder again now as Yeast very difficult to get due to Covid-19 shortages.
ОтветитьNow I can die piecefully.

ОтветитьDo I use more or less baking powder at sea level
Ответитьthank you..! but why do we use both in recipe?
ОтветитьBoth give baked goods a bitter taste which I hate !!! How to overcome that bitter taste ???
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьToo many people are obsessed with explaining what the technical difference is between the wo and not the practical difference. I don't care which is an acid, sodium bicarbonate, which one reacts with acid and blah blah blah. I want to know when to use one over the other and why as in what the end result will be if I do or don't. Nobody explains that part.
ОтветитьSo baking soda is about three times as strong as baking powder, that's awesome to know, thanks! How does cream of tartare factor in, if at all? Isn't it an acid? Could you add that instead of vinegar, lemon juice or buttermilk? Would it change the flavor or have a similar effect?
ОтветитьTy
ОтветитьThis is great. Explained to perfection. THANK YOU
