Nobody seems to Talk about North County And South County...I know why Exactly, this video tells a one sided story, people will honestly think that west county and south city are the only areas in Saint Louis...I guess that's why he starts a house at $400,000 when the average income isn't close to that

Expect cops to be monumentally ignorant stopping you, harassing you just coming out of a restaurant or simply walking down the street. Unreal.

Jacob, since you said you're not all that familiar with Southern Illinois, I'll share something with you about Illinois. Housing may be cheaper but the price of gas is way more expensive than in St. Louis. My dad was from Belleville, IL and moved to St. Louis as a working adult and he said even back in the 1950s, the gas prices were always more expensive across the river. Guess they have a higher gas tax. I too have lived in other states and I agree about the traffic. St. Louis traffic is manageable.

Real estate taxes…. If you live in Ladue, your RATE is actually lower, than if you live in South County. In Soco, our annual taxes are about $4,000 on a $375,000 house. In Ladue, you might pay $12,000 on a $2,000,000 home.

I am not from St. Louis and I am not American either. I lived in Maryland for 9 years and have been here for 1.5 now. I must say you were of great help in my research in 2023 when I moved here. Thank you for that. I live and work in central west end so it is pretty much the center of the city, but I have pretty much sampled the whole city.
Saint Louis is a mixed bag just as a bag of apples has mix of bad apples and fresh ones. It is imperative to be decisive otherwise the entire bag is a no go before one realizes. I hope the rot in the cities of this great nation of yours is fixed with the required decisiveness. I am incredibly grateful to you Americans for the incredible hospitality and unparalleled opportunity. I wish nothing but the best for Saint Louis.

A car is a must have because you don't want to get the Metro 🚇🚉🚇🚉🚇🚉🚇🚉🚇 🚍🚌 subway or the bus you can get on them if you want to go to the hospital. I am a South side boy as a kid but now I am a man in Creve Coeur 🤠 Dexter Lombardo . If you are moving here DON'T believe the St Louis news TV stations especially KMOV CBS affiliate and KSDK NBC affiliate they lie if they are talking they are lying. If you are moving don't have children in the city or don't have kids at all because the schools here are horrible. Your kid might end up in a cemetery. Do your research before moving here.

I love in the Arnold area. I like it here. Higher taxes but bigger police presence so if you need police they're there pretty quick. Same for paramedics etc. They're pretty quick. I personally like knowing the police are "present". STL is known for crime but Arnold is known more for not putting up with it. Very nice family place to live. You'll find this out when you realize there's not many places to buy. If a place does come up for sale, it's gone quickly. But if you can move here I recommend it.
Personally I don't go into the city. Too much crime.
The whole high school thing is very real. When I moved here I thought is was just them being nice but yeah, they're totally sizing you up. I thought that was odd. But every area has their "thing". People thought I was odd when I moved here because I lived right near Arkansas so had the whole southern accent. So much so that I had to work on my language skills lol. Down there people knew what I was saying. Up here... No idea. We had an accent, slang terms etc. And people weren't necessarily nice or understanding either. But I'm still glad I moved here. I wouldn't change a thing. We have a lot more opportunities and best thing is our children do too. The town we came from was dying and still is. Best move we ever made.

My wife and i moved here from Montana. We got tired of not having more to do and not to mention Montana is getting expensive. I come from a small town and if you wanted any decent prices for shopping you had to drive an hour for a Walmart or 2 hours for Home Depot or Lowes etc. Its nice to have choices around here

STL in a nutshell - "If you are from here, you are one of us and you are welcome. If you are NOT from here, you will NEVER be one of us. Get out!" When I moved to STL in 1990, it was known for having the most corp. headquarters per capita of any U.S. city. Those days are long gone. Southwestern Bell moved to Texas because the executives (even the CEO) were made to feel so unwelcome in STL. Yes, you are still judged by what private Catholic high school you attended. Not Catholic? Get out!

I wouldn't recommend anyone moving here, St Louis is a great place to live if you love being homeless in the street. There's no jobs here, you will not find any meaningful work here. The city used to be a really vibrant place with some of the best night clubs in the country. Now its a dilapidated, crime ridden dump. St Louis county aint much better. I hope and pray it changes for the better, but the economy here is totally dead, crime is a serious problem, and the lack of work opportunities just exacerbates things. Its not safe to live here, I wont even walk the streets in many parts of St Louis today. Its sad too, this was the greatest place to live when I first moved here in the 90's. I lived the American dream here long ago, that dream is long gone.

I have heaed in similer videos that asking about tou hugh schoolis notunique to t. Louis. I also think it doesn’t mean as much as it used to. In the 1930s -1940s most people lived within the city limits the question would not only point out younr neighorhiod, but could also tell whether or not you were likely to be Catholic, st the city had an extensive catholic school sytem

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.
