I'm turning 24 in a month and I just learned just now for the first time ever that my mom named me after this guy.

Broken Arrow, 3000 Miles to Graceland, and Hard Rain are 3 movies I can watch when ever I come across them on TV. Breaking IN was a great TV show, I really liked that 1 but I think it was only 2 seasons. i have re-watched that a couple times, maybe every couple years I revisit it.

Kuffs is one of my all time favorites.

Really enjoyed this! First watched Christian Slater in Prince Of Thieves and Interview With A Vampire. <3 A couple of his movies are on Tubi, and I'd stream them at work. Great voice and a fun, compelling actor.

I wouldn't refer to Pump Up the Volume as a teen comedy, it's more of a teen socio-political drama.

I love this dude! All that charisma and charm! Known his name all my life, but didn't really look up his old movies before early 2023. Been so much fun to watch. Pretty sure Robin Hood was the one that kicked it all off. I'm so happy that of all the actors that has struggled and done shit, he's one of those who got his shit together! I'd rather see him alive than an A-lister.

I remember Christian Slater being really popular in the 90’s. I didn’t realize that he made sooo many movies, wow! My favorite movie of his was “Untamed Heart” which I didn’t see here.

He also appeared in an argentinian film called "La Cordillera" (2017) about a summit of presidents from Latinoamerica in the mountains of La Patagonia, great film. He did just one scene but it's great.

The expression is 'Suspend disbelief' not 'suspend belief.' The default position going into what we know to be a fictional movie is disbelief. That's why we have to suspend it - the disbelief. And more obviously if you suspend belief then you have no belief which a good movie enables you to have - temporarily. Hence the word 'suspend'. But I think it's more like while we can get lost and immerse ourselves in good storytelling, we never really actually totally 'believe.' But we can, very well, suspend our disbelief.

I just rewatched Nymphomaniac vol 1, and Slater's performance is great, the relationship between his character and Joe it's easily the best part of the movie for me.

Did you seriously completely gloss over Untamed Heart!? One of the sweetest love stories of the time? He was so out of his typecast character in that one and it was beautiful. It showcased what a beautiful man he really is. Shame on you for all but ignoring it.
