So a 26.5ft boat minus the pointy bit where you can have a locker...
Don't get it
75 000 € tout de même, c'est cher pour un p'tit bateau comme ça ! Mais c'est vrai que le concept des bouts ronds est excellent et permet un grand gain de place.
Ответитьshame to test it in such flat conditions because the big question is not answered, how does it handle waves, particularly a sharp chop, looks like it would not only bash around, but would be bloody noisey too
ОтветитьHe didn't invent the bow type ..
ОтветитьIs there a video of him sailing into the wind, (orca) in rough seas? high waves? This is all on calm seas with little wind and calm seas.
Ответитьi think these are beautiful yachts because they perform beautifully .... and i think anyone who thinks its ugly would think the same, the more miles they get under the keel.
ОтветитьWith all that freeboard, it reminds me a little of a MacGregor. So right from the off, the bar can't get any lower for this boat!
ОтветитьWho wants standing headroom in a yacht whilst sailing. All that space wasted?
Better designs in glass fibre in the 60s like kingfisher 20s, vegan 24, vega 27, trident 24 etc
It has AMAZING desing!
10 of 10!
A 40 footer like this might be very nice.
ОтветитьReminds me of Tom Wilkes’ “SCHUSS” JOG Boat built by his Viking Marine out of stretched aluminum on the same production line as the ships lifeboats about 1958/9x
Anyone have a picture of her.
I have an Aerial photo and some 8 mm film , but nothing more.
Step forward the first man to commission a scow bowed super maxi… I can’t wait.
ОтветитьInteresting boat. I'd love to know how she sails...
ОтветитьLove it!
Ответить24 foot boat with an actual engine room?
ОтветитьToy boat - Claustrophobic interior structure, ugly, too crowded and uncomfortable. For a short voyage no more than 3-4 hours..
ОтветитьBoy, this boat looks like shit, but if someone gave me one, I would sail it to the carribean and Bahamas to do some fishing. And fish don' t care about the looks of a boat.
ОтветитьGreat little boat
Ответитьi’m wondering if retractable lee boards would possibly work well on this hull design ? sure would free up cabin space…perhaps ballast bilge?…i understand the challenge this might create, but if there is a way to do it and not compromise weight, could be an interesting approach…
Ответитьwe call that kind of keel a 'daggerboard' over here
ОтветитьSean Penn .. You look like sean Penn lol.
ОтветитьThis is a real sailing boat and i love it.
ОтветитьWhat’s the purpose of a bow like this? Can anyone explain?
ОтветитьLove to see these kinds of innovative, break-the-mold type designs. Not sure this one is for me, but love to have the variety available anyway. Competition breeds innovation!
Ответитьive been advocating such a bow for those super fast foilers.....shaped after whales etc....better bouyency
ОтветитьNow i know exactly what shape to make my next hull.
Thanks
How fast will the water drain if the cockpit is swamped in following seas? Are the scuppers adequate to shed those pounds the girl will suddenly put on?
ОтветитьWow! Not a scow as I know 'em, but this & the MacGregor are definitely compelling little sailboats.
These could be an entry Bennettaeu etc sub-brand, just make grp instead of aluminium & tidy it all up.
Before the hydroplane era, I raced "Classic Moths". It was scows v skiffs before hydros. Crazy little boats.
Scows dominated flat waters, any real chop & the skiffs could point much higher. I had one of each.
Fantastic, id buy one. Going upwind with a few feet of slop, terrible. Id still buy one.
ОтветитьIs all 300 kg ballast at the deep end of that 1.9 meter keel?
Or is some of it internal?
A thing of beauty is a joy for ever, this isn't
ОтветитьBeauty is only skin deep but ugliness goes all the way through. Not for me.
Ответитьdown wind this boat is probably good, up wind this boat is most likely a disaster!!!
For the record the mini 6.50 raceboat scows weight around 800 kg.... not 2000kg like this scow
Build it in a 36’ version ❤
ОтветитьI was preplexed with the design, until Toby mention it's french, then it all make sense
ОтветитьThe bow is not so far away from traditional dutch ships.
Ответить"This is not a V berth, a C berth, I guess" .... D)
Ответитьчем "круглые " лодки лучше "острых ???смотрю трансат 6.50 почти все круглые ))
ОтветитьLots of interior space and glass but I'd feel trapped up front. If those big roof windows opened, now you got something!
ОтветитьIt’s beautiful
Ответитьquestion? is it still self righting or will it just lie upside down when knocked over?
ОтветитьI would put my own subsized diesel in it and insulate most of it with cork, like a submarine. That's a really choice boat.
ОтветитьBig daddy D birth. Such an interesting shape.
ОтветитьThat’s a cool looking boat, but what happens when one of those bow windows break
Ответитьready for the north-west-passage I would say
ОтветитьLooks cool, but needs a carbon furling mast to really set it off
ОтветитьI guess he was inspired by traditional dutch flat-bottomed yachts. They have a similar volume / length ratio.
ОтветитьWhat would be the hull speed of this scow? Like 3 knots? Wonder how the bow does in a following sea...
ОтветитьCreative design. There is fun in a solid, roomy, and stable design that can take some wind and not get knocked about.
ОтветитьLove it.
