Dark Souls is One of The Best Games Ever

On my first SOFS playthrough, Vendrick was whooping my ass...*until* I used the old whip. Vendrick is hollowed, so it was doing extra damage. It's something I enjoy about DS2- the weapon variety and how normally weapons i won't use actually turn out to melt a certain boss.

Where there is a whip, there is a way.

At mid game/end game you can get two Old Whips and buy 99 repair powders and you can destroy everything without an issue

Why wouldn't you be able to beat the game with only a whip? It's the same as asking "can you beat dark souls with only using a sword?" They're both weapons that are meant for dealing damage lmao

Its amazing you think the Old Whip is bad, since if you get it at the start of the game it can actually outpace most swords for awhile. So long as you manage its durability it just...chunks.

The old whip is absolutely brutal when fighting undead. I always keep it on as a backup weapon when using short swords just in case I needed that extra long boi.

Salt and sanctuary whip only?

Whip was really cool in PvP as it could not be parried at all plus it could hit enemies through walls and stuff. Many people ran the parrying dagger off hand and were pretty good at parrying all sorts of weapons. Thus many other people ran the whips off hand to do chip damage and counter their parrying strategy.
