Above the Clouds - Madeira

Above the Clouds explores the high mountains of the Island of Madeira through time-lapse video to show clouds flowing through the mountains and star trails above. Using over 10,000 individual images taken over a five year period this video is the result of many hours of work both in the mountains and in the studio.

The video is centred around the area between Pico do Areeiro, Pico Ruivo and Bica da Cana and taken before the recent fires in this area. It shows the beauty and drama that this area of Madeira uniquely had to offer to residents and visitors alike. I hope that it can recover from what is recorded as the largest fire in recent times but it will take time.
