What developer to use to lighten dark hair?I tried them all...didn't see any difference!

thanks for the vid🌹 but actually different volumes are not the real tricks because they only determines the tone of colors...I mean if one uses 8.00 no with 10 volume and the other one uses 8.00 no with 40 volume on identical hair types and bases under constant duration,the ultimate results differs so much even not comparable to each other.

She isn’t a hairdresser and is experimenting, developer and peroxide is the same thing as others had mentioned. The 10 she is using won’t do much on her dark hair the closer you get to the scalp the warmth of the scalp gives the developer a quicker lift. Boy what a Test! Look at that orange in different levels.

It evened out because you pre mixed everything and then took time to apply every mixture. It would probably be more accurate if you did several strand tests individually.

volume isn’t like bleach! you need to mix a color with it for it to really show. the whole purpose of volume is to make ur hair light or dark WITH A COLOR!

You can totally prelighten your hair with 10 or 20vol if you plan to recolor it afterwards. I use 20vol on my level 5 hair but it’s short so I don’t bother

I have a question :) My natural hair is dark brown and i have grey hair. Right now hair cut is very short, without any dye. Later planing to go on blond. But please can you tell me if i will use 30 vol developer ones to go up in levels, should i repet one more time bleaching with 30 vol to go totally light and than dye with blond hair color? Should i bleach it and keep it for 30 min only? Scare not to damage. Roots want to bleach with 20 vol. is it ok? Thank you and will wait for respond 🌹

Heat plays a big part iv done 30 20 and 10 but mind u I did use blonde brilliance level 9 bleach lol 😆 but 5 10 mintues all it rook plus shower cap now I'm ready for my next color lol 😆

Application and technique is key. Look how 40 vol lifted way to light down low. That hair was previously lightened. Your technique and timing is awful. On an elementary level, I dont know how anyone is any wiser.

So! Next time if you don't have 20 vol creme developer, but you do have 10 and 30 vol, you can just do an equal amount of each and they "create" 20 vol!!!

Wow, for someone who bleaches so often, I'm surprised you wasted this time being so unprepared. Do this again, have the correct products, use a brush and not your fingers and time it correctly! The front got more lift time than the other sections. This could have been so informative had you only prepared.

When applying, do you start at the bottom and work your way up ????

Do not apply bleach with fingers!!

Invest in a bleach brush in order to get full thickness even coverage and not have patchy results! Good experiment to try with the same brand cream bleach products in order to get good comparison. (Not peroxide)

But so many people need to see you do not need 40 vol to go black to blonde especially on previous bleached hair, or bleaching over and over with 40vol as it will kill or turn your hair gummy then fall out.

In another video you did with toner, a lot of people do not understand that if you use more than 10vol with a toner, you are in fact coloring your hair….not toning your hair. You can use as little as 2.5vol with toners. Do not use over 10vol with toner.

There are reasons why hair stylists get paid and you are at the salon a few hours! They went to school to learn how to do this profession. Then they work in a salon learning/being taught more before they go out on their own.

People who do bleaching/coloring at home do not usually understand the color wheel or basic chemistry.

For instance if you want to see how harsh bleach is, pour some in a cup, then go outside and find a bird feather with the pointy quill on it intact. Place the feather in the bleach. Come back in 15 min and there will be NO sign of a feather. It will eat it completely away.
Unless you want to end up with gummy hair that falls completely off your head, you should use your well earned money and time to go to a salon and let the stylist make you as beautiful as you are;)

This experiment is a great idea to show people what each bleach strength does to your hair. Please use very thin sections and apply with a bleach brush in order to get even saturation!

It’s obvious as soon as the bleach is applied that you will have patchy results bc there is more bleach in one part of the hair and less in another part of the hair. I do like that you are doing this on dark hair bc so many people think bc they are dark headed they must use 40vol….and sometimes over and over in the same day or two. Then they cry when their hair falls out.

There is a good reason that going from black to blonde needs to take months unless you want very damaged hair. The hair needs a long time to recover between bleaching.
