Stop Trying to Defend Yourself (From the Narcissist)

When we attempt to defend ourselves from a narcissist's manipulation, we only feed the narcissist's agenda. Avoid feeding them with drama. Avoid responding to them in a defensive mode. Manage your conversations with the narcissist by being calm and to the point.

Go gray rock if/when needed. Your tactics can include ignoring the narcissist, act uninterested, do not show emotion, and do not sling the narcissist's manipulation (gaslighting, choice of words, accusations) back at them. If you do, the narcissist can, and will, use this against you (accuse you of being the abuser).
