ParaZero Announces Parachutes for DJI Phantom & Mavic

All I heard was "several hundred dollars". Here is a piece of market research for them. At $50 I would buy it, heck I might even gift a few. At $200+ I will take my chances without.

$700 dollars? That’s crazy.

Never seen a drone video sponsored by a law office before. Is that in case we get sued for not using a parachute when our drone falls into a crowd?

It weighs more than a GoPro, it’s going to cut flight times in half.
It’s not like the Phantom or Mavic is unreliable either, most of us Dji pilots have faith in our aircraft and would see a parachute system to fix a problem that doesn’t exist.
I’ve clipped a tree with my Mavic, it lost balance for half a second, then carried on flying with one broken prop. If I had this, I’d be trying to work out how to retrieve my drone which was stuck 50 feet up a tree, being held by the parachute strings.

For $700 I buy another drone it's a steal not looking to help they just want to make money

Reliability of DJI product makes this obsolete. Just do not keep using old batteries.

Interesting idea. So let's see, the parachute opens up at 100 or 400 ft, the latter being the max legal altitude in the USA). Then the parachute drifts and lands on a roof, river, business, or someone's back yard. Good luck getting back your drone.

This is a complete waste of money, it’s a false sense of security. Most (emphasis on most) crashes don’t happen at 350’ in the air, they happen at tree level (20’-30’). If you crash into a tree this devices isn’t going to help you much. I’m sure if DJI felt a parachute would be useful they would have incorporated them into the design of they aircraft. This company is totally taking newb pilots for a ride.

It def has to cut gps on the phantoms...hell i can keep my hand above top shell on phantom and kill gps....wonder how it combats this

Sure this might cut flight time. That said, could this be the system that might finally get the FAA to consider a flying over people exemption? It's an interesting thought and possibly something work partnering with the FAA for safety testing.

The Para pack is bulky, it might as well be a longer range battery power cell and radar beacon range, the parachute will still get stuck in things, would be better if the parachute inflated like a mars Rover parachute ball, it could fall on water surfaces without drowning.

Several hundreds of dollars, COMMON! and people will have to re-packing the thing at a retailer for more cost. This guy is out of his mind! SEVERAL HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS, let me laugh, who gone spend hundreds of dollars to a thing will be surely lost in sea or mountains with a $1,500 magic or phantom? But like this guy said, China will fix the price version lol

Sorry but I believe in keeping things simple and adding a device like this may solve one problem but create another.

What about the inspire 2 also 700$ cost? That is way to high of a cost for a mavic user

I guess you can repack it when you find the lid and the guts parts that fly away due the activation.

How does it not stop GPS on Phantom?

Will this work on the DJI Air also. Will the phantom model work on the Vivtar 360 drone. How does it turn off the motors of the drone?

Selling a parachute system for basically what an used Phantom/Mavic sells for on eBay ... how can that fail? This is worth 50 bucks ... how did they get some investor to come up with the bucks to build this and then decide to sell it "for several hundred bucks?" The investor obviously is clueless about drones ... Another example of "what you don't understand about the product that you are investing in, can hurt you."
