Excellent remaster.

Jerry's solos on this version are sublime, not the flashiest or the most difficult but they do exactly what they need to in every single note

Always puts a big old goofy grin on my face. Jerry's run is epic. The Dead were a jamming band but perfectly capable of throwing down great songs when they wanted to.

I was never a DEAD fan. I was born in 1962. Heavy metal being my preference. But this song got me. THE lyrics. The riff its built on. Great guitar work.

Jerry said in an 1990 interview. while recording this song. it was sounding like a too long too hippy kinda song. and on the ride home the driver of the car he was in blasted The Beatles. Get Back song. and Jerry thought. " This Is It". a short fast tight Rock n Roll Song. not a long hippy song. is the way to go with. this song.

I've wondered if it's possible that this song might have been inspired (a little bit) by Donna Godcheux. She was the only female member of the band (even though her time was short lived). She's also from my hometown of Florence, Alabama!
