Ответитьmy favorite song from the grateful dead, guitar work is killer
ОтветитьRoll Tide Roll
ОтветитьMinha preferida.
ОтветитьIt never hit me before But Jerry's solo and verse riffs are incredible He had such a great touch on the Guitar!!!!!
ОтветитьGOD. BLESS JERRY GARCIA ONE OF. BEST OF ALL TIME
Ответитьwhen this album came out i was surprised by this song "before i have to hit him i hope hes got the sense to run" pretty far from my peace and love live and let live dead...and didnt expect them to be rockin...still it shouldnt have surprised me, they were constantly g
rowing
Excellent remaster.
ОтветитьJerry's solos on this version are sublime, not the flashiest or the most difficult but they do exactly what they need to in every single note
ОтветитьAlways puts a big old goofy grin on my face. Jerry's run is epic. The Dead were a jamming band but perfectly capable of throwing down great songs when they wanted to.
ОтветитьThirty two teeth in a jawbone
Alabama's tryin' for none
Before I have to hit him
I hope he's got the sense to run
Reason the poor girls love him
Promise them everything
Why they all believe him?
He wears a big diamond ring
Alabama getaway, getaway
Alabama getaway, getaway
Only way to please me
Just get down and leave and walk away
Majordomo Billy Bojangles
Sat down and had a drink with me
Said what about Alabama
That keeps a-coming back to me?
I heard your plea in the courthouse
Witness box began to rock and rise
Forty-nine sister states
Had Alabama in their eyes
Alabama getaway, getaway
Alabama getaway, getaway
Only way to please me
Just get down and leave and walk away
Major said why don't we give him
Rope enough to hang himself?
No need to worry the jury
They'll probably take care of themselves
Twenty-third Psalm Majordomo
Reserve me a table for three
Down in the Valley of the Shadow
Just you, Alabama and me
Alabama getaway, getaway
Alabama getaway, getaway
Only way to please me
Just get down and leave and walk away <3
The hardest-rocking song The Grateful Dead ever did...with two absolutely bitching guitar solos. The Dead at their all-time best, in my opinion.
ОтветитьEveryone at my sons wedding was. Up rocking to this
ОтветитьAmerica's house band! True exceptionalism.
ОтветитьGood Tune
ОтветитьThis classic is just so dang catchy..!
ОтветитьI just raped two white girls and held up a gas station but I had two interceptions and ten tackles against LSU. We've only got one loss and the Iron Bowl is coming up. Coach please give him a second chance.
ОтветитьLove playing this as I head towards the Great State of Alabama..!
ОтветитьThe Captain is alive and well in Bangor
Ответить"Majordomo Billy Bojangles sat down and had a drink with me "
I love that line 🌹
I love how Jerry & co. would 'lean forward' every once-in-a-while and remind everyone that they could straight-up rock n' roll as good as anyone. Thanks for the upload!
ОтветитьGroovy. I haven't heard this song in quite a while.
ОтветитьThe thumbnail picture looks more like a Bee Gees than a Grateful Dead picture. Anyway, it is a good song!
ОтветитьMuch missed. ❤️
ОтветитьJerry's image was so iconic that most people automatically assumed he was the lead singer and were shocked when they found out he wasn't.
ОтветитьI was never a DEAD fan. I was born in 1962. Heavy metal being my preference. But this song got me. THE lyrics. The riff its built on. Great guitar work.
Ответитьkelli desmit's music
ОтветитьGay
ОтветитьJerry said in an 1990 interview. while recording this song. it was sounding like a too long too hippy kinda song. and on the ride home the driver of the car he was in blasted The Beatles. Get Back song. and Jerry thought. " This Is It". a short fast tight Rock n Roll Song. not a long hippy song. is the way to go with. this song.
ОтветитьI've wondered if it's possible that this song might have been inspired (a little bit) by Donna Godcheux. She was the only female member of the band (even though her time was short lived). She's also from my hometown of Florence, Alabama!
ОтветитьGreat tune ! 😎👍
ОтветитьThose were the days my friend
ОтветитьLove this tune
ОтветитьLove this tune
ОтветитьYes, thank you 😊
ОтветитьI like The Jerry Garcia Band, but I like a few songs by the Dead. This is one of them
ОтветитьThey opened with this on their Rockpalast show...check it out!
ОтветитьThis song remains killer today in 2024.
ОтветитьJerry is great. Not bad for someone who hasn’t learned to read music
