When I was a kid, Barry Norman's film series was essential viewing I tried every week to win a directors chair. I can't believe this was shown 38 years ago it only seems like yesterday , where did it all go? Thank you for bringing back such wonderful memories.
ОтветитьReally enjoyed that. Thank you.
ОтветитьI watched Barry Norman's film program every week back then, and really missed it when he left in 1998 or whenever it was to go to Sky. Jonathon Ross took over but it just wasn't the same. Thanks for this. Strangely though, I find now that I disagree with a lot of what Barry says on here. Hey, times change and so do points of view. Nice memory though.
ОтветитьBack in the day Eddie Murphy was an absolute mega superstar!
ОтветитьI still have great memories of seeing jaws 3D at the movies, with my 3D glasses on which had the shark over the nose
ОтветитьI never realised Robbie Coltrane was in Krull!
ОтветитьAnyone know the precise date of this?
ОтветитьJaws 3 is awesome
ОтветитьLoved this. Thank you for posting.
Do you have any other eps?
A bit off the mark on trading places. A classic
ОтветитьI think it was Barry's time of the month when he reviewed Trading Places. Miserable git.
ОтветитьStill remember the tv trailer for Jaws 3d in 1983.
ОтветитьRemember watching this. Barry Norman was brilliant.
ОтветитьThe jail scene is an absolute classic!
ОтветитьClassy guy who pioneered quality movies, now so rare!
ОтветитьThis always came on late, like 10:30pm on BBC One. Never saw a single episode. I watched “Movies, Games & Videos” on ITV in the afternoons.
ОтветитьWow. In Brianstorm they've invented the World Wide Web 10yrs before World Wide Web 😆
ОтветитьNorman was being way too churlish, the ending would have been ruined if it was filled with jokes, Trading Places is a recognised classic it's a critic's actual job to recognise that.
ОтветитьThis is. brilliant thank you,as it brings happy memories of loved ones watching Barry Norman, and great shows and movies in theses happy days
ОтветитьKen Matthews?? Ken Marshall surely…and why not! At least we get 2 great James Horner scored movies in the one programme.
ОтветитьSince fucking when was Robbie Coltrane in Krull?
ОтветитьI’m just disappointed I missed the Rockford Files.
ОтветитьTrading Places still holds up today. A classic
ОтветитьI miss Barry Norman's reviews, most of all I miss his wit and droll humour.
ОтветитьI loved Krull.
ОтветитьThe others really don't stand up to Norman. They simply don't possess his sharp observation, his relaxed sarcasm and his pure film brain. They're just not in the same league. Only Mark Kermode and Kim Newman can give us similar range and insight.
ОтветитьGot it wrong about Trading Places
ОтветитьBarry Norman was brilliant his no nonsense approach to film reviews were not to put us off just his own witty observations with his own input ..Something no critics can seem to do these days
ОтветитьA crap Christmas tree like that today would be ironic.
ОтветитьSo lucky to see Trading Places with my parents in theatre, I was 10 and discovered Eddie, we all love him in France.
ОтветитьLoved this show & always liked & respected Barry Norman...but his review of Trading Places was harsh & inaccurate. It WAS & IS an absolutely fantastic movie from start to finish... and ALL the main cast were superb!!
ОтветитьMiss Barry N and the film show. There’s absolutely nothing comparable on TV today sadly
ОтветитьYoung Liam Neeson
ОтветитьAlways watched this. Miss you 😢Barry
ОтветитьJAWS 3-D HAHA COMPLETE AND UTTER CRAP FILM BETTER THAN JAWS 4 THO EVEN MORE TOTAL SHIT
ОтветитьWas and still is the King of Movie Reviewers! And why not!!😂
Ответить40 years? Are you sure 😊
ОтветитьA very shallow review of TP
ОтветитьTrading places is an absolute classic, the whole film is great, Lionel Joseph should have got his own film!
ОтветитьMyself and my dad always watch Barry Norman together he is sadly miss on television
ОтветитьGravey train passenger
ОтветитьHow decent were the films back then 🎉
ОтветитьThis was nice to watch - great to have the BBC intro too. 40 years ago, Jesus.
Ответить40 years ago. I remember watching Barry Norman's Film 'XX as often as I could. Watching this clip now is like going back in time. The theme music, Barry's interesting inflections, and"and why not?". This was the golden age of TV and film for me. Thanks for posting
ОтветитьI saw trading places in its first weekend in 83. Was only 15 or 16 and laughed non stop.
ОтветитьTrading Places is outstanding...Barry Norman never seemed to think much of it.
ОтветитьGod . These are days youll never get back
