Looks like a cross between a Juke, a Mini & as you say the new 4 & 5. Not the prettiest mongrel imo! 😬
ОтветитьI like it but unless it's a decent bit cheaper than the 5 I don't see why anyone would get this over the Renault.
ОтветитьGreat to see the Micra making a comeback and Nissan actually trying.
ОтветитьEvery reviewer has raved about the 5, but on first glance this new Micra looks way, way better. Love the car and that colour. 👍👍👍
ОтветитьHonestly, I wasn't expecting it to be quite so R5 on the inside. It's almost a carbon copy, which is disappointing.
I know Nissan aren't exactly flush with cash right now but,... Really? Nothing unique to offer on the interior (welcome paddles aside)?
Nah, I am more interested in the new Nissan Leaf that should not share anything with Renault. Big miss, no rear USB! And pathetic performance!
ОтветитьApparently Nissan want to position this as a more premium competitor to the R5, I'm not sure how they'll do it when it looks nowhere near as good though. You've got to really like Nissan's weird styling cues to pick this over the 5, but at least if you do you know you're getting a well-reviewed car underneath.
ОтветитьNissan have done a reasonable job of making the Micra look different to the R5, but they should have at least changed the surrounds on the instrument panels to gel with the slightly curvier exterior.
Similar to what Fiat have done with the Grande Panda to differentiate from the eC3 and Frontera.
Other minor quibble, common with the R5, is if you are going to install a "shelf" in front of the passenger, at least make the surface level with w small outer lip, so stuff can be left on it without falling off, for a few moments at least.
As I say, a minor quibble, but it would add to the practicality of the car.
Other than that, same pluses and minuses of the R5. Poor enough rear space, boot too deep when lifting stuff in and out and no flat-floor option to make sliding things forward that bit easier, when dropping the rear seats to carry longer loads.
Price will be key, because its hard to look past the styling of the R5, to buy something that's similar but just not as good-looking as the R5.
Will be interested to see the styling of the Juke when it comes out, which will presumably based on the R4.
It’s no K11 Micra!
While I welcome any new small cars in a world of crossovers/SUVs, there’s a problem with EV only small cars. Small cars are usually city based cars with people living in town houses or apartments with no driveways only on street parking or underground/public parking, and therefore owners will be inconvenienced & fleeced by public EV charging rates. Or in a household where this is the 2nd or 3rd EV in the household there’ll be a fight for the driveway to charge!
While this post isn’t an argument fir EV versus Hybrid, I’m simply making the point of convenience & ease of refuelling If there was a Plug in hybrid or hybrid only option it would have wider appeal. While not the most modern hybrid, I wonder what a R5 or this Micra would be like with the Renault 1.6 hybrid (yes I know it probably cant be easily fitted to an EV only platform) Personally the fun with a small car is a 3 cylinder 1.0 engine that’s rev happy which would be a interesting to have in the R5 !
It looks like the Fiat 600 and R5 had a child, it’s almost entirely an R5 other than cosmetics. Mind you that’s a pretty good starting place!
ОтветитьGood informative video. It should have better discounts as not as desirable as R5. Will it be worth less after 3 yrs. An interesting electric car for 25k€
ОтветитьDelighted to here the Micra is back!
ОтветитьI'd need to get a K11 before they are all gone...
ОтветитьExcellent video and presentation nobby. You covered all the points very well. I hope this car does well.
ОтветитьThank you so much for such a comprehensive review. Can't wait to see it in the metal. I'm holding off buying an EV, so many new smaller models coming out but as an owner of the very first Micra model, I am leaning towards Nissan.
ОтветитьGarbage
ОтветитьGood review Nobby
ОтветитьEvery reviewer is going to comment on the gloss black trims.. you got there first! :)
ОтветитьWhen you get a chance to test it properly, please test the accuracy of the range estimation. Also on the checklist: cameras, sensors, turning circle, and radar cruise control. Most reviews ignore that stuff..
ОтветитьI was thinking this Jesus, this is as ugly as hell because of the head and rear lights, but it has Renault 5 vibes ( I love the 5). Then you said exactly why it has 5 vibes, same platform😂.
ОтветитьGood looking car.
ОтветитьBeautiful ❤
ОтветитьReally good looking exterior (I personally like this design better than Renault 5) but what genius decided to use such vast amounts of shiny black plastic on all the parts doomed to get scratches? I also find the interior design/colours a little underwhelming compared to the Renault 5 sibling. Since it's the same car with different badges and some cosmetic changes the choice between them is mostly a matter of taste and prices. To my eyes they made a more appealing exterior but that does not outweigh the fact that it's more impractical and they failed to make the interior as nice as the R5. For those reasons it would have to undercut Renault on price in order to get me seriously interested. Since it's based on the R5 Nissan also had to inherit the third stalk and some interior design elements that fit better with the R5 than the Micra's exterior design language and heritage in order to keep costs down so you could argue that the R5 is a more coherent package with clearer references to the brand history.
ОтветитьI prefer the R5 over this but having said that its more or less identical.
ОтветитьI did learn how to drive in one…
