I'm so happy we don't have humidity here where I live in California but on the downside we get a couple of months of triple digits, so around a constant of 106°F to 111°F, that's 41.11°C to 43.89°C. It's cooling down now but still very hot. When it's in the triple digits, it feels like an electric hair dryer is blowing into your face but luckily we have air conditioning everywhere. Ugh, I'm sorry you all don't have that there, that makes it difficult to deal with. 🥵
I wanted to mention that you can get Microsoft 365 for free on your laptop from your Google Play Store. You get Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. When I looked it up, it was free but then I read something that was conflicting. You'd have to look into it. I hope that helps. Or you can continue with the free versions of Excel, which I've used and they're great also. 😁👍

Where I live, had the promise of a thunderstorm, but it was rain with one rumble. It did nothing 😢
It felt like I was sleeping in a water bed with a slow puncture 😅

I have an put of date IT diploma, and even I hate the setting up part. So you can imagine the pain of having a fibre upgrade from talktalk and needing to go into every electronic device to do the password. 😮 😠 😮.

I always told my children that you are only as clever as what you know.
Every day is a learning day, and sometimes, we all need to get out of our comfort zones.

Just because I don't know how to hang drywall doesn't make me stupid. Just means I don't know how to hang drywall.
So cut yourself some slack you are more capable than you think.
And to prove it, you did it. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😅 well done, you 🎉🎉🎉🎉.

Loved the ride along but dang it I ventured out to thrift store got few pieces fabric but it’s 103 degrees with 75%humidity it’s not weather out there for man nor beast .. here in central Texas..made a big o glass iced tea.. I can understand the technical aspect my sister gave me her old laptop as she got new one and it was different than what I was used to but now I’m used to it … my sis is sitting out on patio drinking her a summer ale some kinda beer.. yours looked refreshing I’m not a beer drinker but I have a little sweet white wine in there….

I do pretty well with new technology, but changing passwords, remembering passwords and thinking up new passwords drives me crazy!!!!

Hi Vivi, windows 10 & 11 have built in anti virus software and a firewall. If you go into settings you might find its already on. I used to use Macafee until Windows 10 kept telling me I had a software conflict as both macafee and Windows firewall were conflicting each other.

I live in the SE USA. I don't even want to think about not having AC, though I do remember not having it. We did usually put a window AC in the kitchen, so I could still do all my cooking. I grew up in the Midwest. We did not have AC, but back then, no one did. We used a few electric fans and had an attic fan that pulled the outside air in through the house. It helped a lot. Thanks for sharing.

LOL - I was just about to ask if you had air conditioning and if not, would it be a detriment to selling. Last year when my hubby and I had an Adriatic Sea cruise, I noticed that most places do not have A/C. I grew up without it in western PA but many there now have had to get it due to becoming more hot and 'muggy'. We say that in the US also. Now in the DC area, which was built on a swamp (below sea level), we get very high humidity and high 90's in the summer often. There often is no break until October. A/C is a must!

Congratulations!!!! My hub is a computer geek. When I acquired an iPad, (old but still working), in addition to my laptop, (old but still working), he had an incredibly hilarious meltdown. LOL. (Hilarious because we have iPhones…old but still working.) I caught him accidentally trying to use his HP laptop as a touch screen. (Both old, but still in good shape. LOL. 😁)

I think air con must be catching on in the UK as two of my friends in England have it, one for the whole house and the other in their main bedroom upstairs. I'm in NZ and it was in the open plan living areas when I bought my wee home. I saved up and had small units installed in the two bedrooms we use as it was very hard to sleep at night. I'm also a shift worker so often need to sleep during the day. I don't regret the expenditure at all as sleep is such an important factor in wellbeing.

Here in the US, my Nana always said the angels were bowling when it thundered. I've also heard it called "the tater wagon is coming".

Going back to your last video Vivi, you can recycle plastic at supermarkets. Just put it in the bin provided.

I absolutely admire that you have set up your new laptop. Fortunately I have a daughter who was born knowing how to do that stuff. I would rather weed an entire set of allotments in heavy rain. But you have inspired me to have a go when I next need to replace mine (if my daughter isn’t nearby. 👏👏

Well done on persevering with the new laptop set up -and also giving yourself time to regroup when it seemed overwhelming. I once had a young guy at work laugh at me for not knowing how to do something on my new phone so I presented him with a knitting pattern I had in my bag for lunchbreaks and asked him to decipher it. He was mightily affronted and said he'd never seen one before so I told him that that was exactly how I felt with phone manuals. I think he did realise he had been a bit condescending to me and we actually became good workmates. Good to see you enjoying your beer (or two!) in the sunshine.

You don't need to buy any type of external antivirus software; the Microsoft operating system has inbuilt antivirus software, "Windows Defender," which comes with all of those checks. I used to buy Norton, too, but my now 16-year-old son, who loves all things computers, told me that Microsoft does it all. You just need to make sure that you run the updates when prompted; they "patch" the system to recognise and stop current threats.
The caveat is if you have an ancient computer that is unable to run the "patches."
Disclaimer I am not a computer tech so do your own research!

You have inspired and emboldened me to replace my old laptop. It's not THAT old but it's one of those pieces of kit that's NEVER really worked that well.

Like you on your oldie, opening up an email is 5 minutes, and it likes to reconfigure Microsoft Office EVERY SINGLE TIME I want to use Word. It has to go, but I've been SO apprehensive about making the change.

Hello from Saskatchewan Canada, we just had a storm and tornado warning but it’s finished now. It’s exciting. We have a drought here so it was kind of nice to get moisture.
