Who goes glamping?
Hey,I’m Tim from Quality Unearthed and a question we often get asked is who goes glamping?
So, glamping is all about an experience. So, people are coming here looking for a forward to nature type of experience where you can hear the pitter patter of rain on the roof, you've got the owls in the trees, the hedgerow animals the sights and the smells of the river and the mountains. But at the same time they want to be comfortable, that's really the key combination , forward to nature but within confort.
We see also then families and couples. So, it's super romantic, glamping has got loads of beautiful places geared up for two, loads of honeymoons and mini moons check out our other videos, also from a family point of view we see quite often that one part of the family wants to go camping, one wants to go to a more traditional place like a cottage, but they can meet in the middle with something like a beautiful treehouse or glamping structures. So it does appeal to couples and families too.
Age wise, we are seeing about 70% of our guests are aged 25-55 perhaps what you might expect, but that still means that 15% are aged 55 or older, in fact our very first guest was 89 stayed in a teepee so the point i'm trying to make there is actually a surprisingly broad range from an age perspective.
Other things i suppose to consider would be the jobs and the lifestyles of the guests who are coming. Probably fair to say that the disposable income is slightly above average and in terms if the industry they work in in my view they are working in industries exposed to contemporary culture. They are seeing cool stuff online, and they are looking for that experience themselves, so that maybe professional or media type industries, but not exclusively.
So, what I’d say in summary is that a glamping experience is for someone looking to go forward to nature, but within comfort and indeed luxury, mostly speaking aged 25-55 but certainly not exclusively, they are exposed to contemporary culture with slightly above average disposable income, but if you're thinking of setting up a treehouse and would like some more advice or you want to come and stay and you want us to help find a place for you, check out https://www.qualityunearthed.co.uk/ cheers.
