SOYCON
ОтветитьAnd even then, compared to real life, DEFCON is a walk in the park. There are 10x more nukes per side in the real world, and no defense against ballistic missiles. Most ballistic missiles are also MIRVs.
Ответить"No one would let it happen", Accidents happen.
In 1983 the world was saved from nuclear annihilation because a lone Soviet military officer did not follow procedure and he was reprimanded for it. Let that sink in.
It’s horrible thinking there are people Putin putting the M.A.D theory to the test. War in general is pointless. No one wins
ОтветитьWait until he finds TNO
ОтветитьGreat game, it definitely gives you a mood.
ОтветитьTNO lore be like:
Ответить"nook-ya-lurr"
ОтветитьCan you play this on Console?
ОтветитьThis game is scary in a way that feels different than horror, stuff like horror is fun scary, while this is the not so fun kind of scary, because this is about something that could happen.
ОтветитьI just downloaded this game because of your video. I'm not sure if I'm ready to play it, though
Ответить"this game will scare you"
me laughing at the 7M people dead by a single Nuke in egypt
You know what, i dont think that i wanna be in any of those tiktok war edits, war is fucking terrifying
ОтветитьThis is basically a 21st century version of the classic computer game "NukeWar". Avalon Hill helped develop that one.
ОтветитьI think this is a great way to demonstrate how easily a human can play down such destructive power as “a game”. I’ve seen a few documentaries about the Cold War I heard about if a nuclear strike reached the UK (where I live), it was theorised it would reduce the population to medieval levels; about 5-10 million I think. I remember my first thought was “huh, doesn’t seem too bad” completely ignoring the great suffering and immense loss of life of not just humans but animal and plant life. I don’t think humans can properly comprehend it so we either play it down as completely improbable or try to be optimistic if it does happen which in itself could spell the death of us. The consequences need to be constantly made prominent cuz the moment someone in power starts seeing nuclear war as a computer game or looks at the statistics and thinks “eh, not as bad as I thought”, is when they’ll lose the seriousness of who they are.
ОтветитьIf anyone's interested, someone made a game called "First Strike," and it's basically a much more gameified version of DEFCON. It's the same concept, but expanded a lot and much more geared toward RTS than horror. I recommend it. Solid game. It has a very, very different feeling to it, but it's extremely fun, and if you're into the "nuclear war RTS" idea, First Strike definitely expands on the game portion of the concept.
ОтветитьI love this game. It shows how grim and terrifying nuclear warfare is and really hits home just what using nukes would mean. I love it because it scares people. Good. I want people to be scared of nukes and the idea of using them. That material could be used for developing better space travel, for powering cities, instead it's all gone to a giant brinkmanship game with everyone living on Earth being the pawns in this game. It's scary, and that's good, it's not "fun scary" like Silent Hill and Resident Evil are, but "grim depressing scary" like, well, nuclear war.
ОтветитьNuclear war is scary because it won’t happen
ОтветитьTwo questions: first, do I need a gaming laptop at minimum to play this, or can I play it on my HP laptop?
Second, should i buy this game?
HBO's Chernobyl is not fully accurate
ОтветитьThis means so much more in a 2024 standpoint.
ОтветитьFun fact: Arguably the best country to live in in the event of nuclear war is my home of New Zealand. The primary reason is simple, NZ wouldn't be targeted. We're too small to be a threat, and too far away from anyone else to be affected. Our power comes largely from hydro, so losing access to foreign oil etc would be managable. Similarly, we could sustain ourselves with domestic food production.
My headcanon for the Fallout world is that NewZealand has remained the most unchanged, and even by Fallout 4, it's probably still fairly close to pre-war status. The population likely dropped by a million or so over the 200 years, simply due to the reduction in power and food, but I imagine that it's still a functioning democracy.
From "DEFCON 5, everything is fine", to "DEFCON 1, say goodbye to your loved ones"
ОтветитьNothing ever happens
ОтветитьOne annoying thing about that study is that modern nuclear power does not enable nations to breed nuclear bombs, they need seperate facilities. Nuclear fuel and power is safe and vital for clean energy and economic stimulation providing tens of thousands of jobs. Nuclear waste is controlled safely in modern times. So seeing people hating nuclear power is a poor case of misinformation and populism.
ОтветитьIt sounds like the game reflects the massive public ignorance about nuclear planning and strategy, which this video also propagates.
ОтветитьFun fact: The US Marines do not have a DEFCON 5.
ОтветитьThis doesn't seem scary. I am in charge of killing other people? Yes, I know how war games work. My presence in the game is removed from the battlefield? Yes, I know how strategy war games work. I don't understand why you think this one is any scarier than other games.
ОтветитьWhat's more stupid thought dozens of counties building and buying this horror show or the emotionally unstable people we raze in this world. and videos to make people anxious and instill fear like there is no brighter future. if you dime our outlook on life guess what you will get... if history taught me one thing is that we didn't get here by fears and doubts we embraced curiosity and enforced freedom and human rights. I'm more mind blow with the state world than any hollo cast. 🤯
Ответитьit doesnt scare me
ОтветитьThought you were talking about the hacking convention lol
ОтветитьI managed to keep all of the enemy nukes away from my land, does that mean I win? 3 touched down but they landed on a couple of my silos.
ОтветитьWhy does bro look like Gutrum Vagner?
ОтветитьI played this game in high school! On our laptops and vsed friends during class 😂
ОтветитьIt can’t be humans deciding to go to war on innocent civilians countries leaders need to battle 1 on 1 but hey Gods real
ОтветитьThere should be a sadistic version of this game, which allows you to play it just once and you won't be able to play it again even if you reinstall the game, basically until you reinstall your system completely.
ОтветитьI’d love to play a version with consequences to make it more realistic
Ответитьdefcon 2 is finger on the button. Defcon 1 is nuclear war, aka pressing the button
ОтветитьDavis Dorothy Young Amy White Paul
ОтветитьRobinson Michael Jones Jose Brown Donald
ОтветитьScience is wrong. I win the game by launcuing the most nukes every time.
ОтветитьWe’ll meet again
Don’t know where
Don’t know when
But u always know we’ll meet again
Some sunny day
Keep smiling through
Just like you always do
Till the blue skies chase dark clouds away
DEFCON 1 ☢🚀💥🔥
ОтветитьNah we’d win
ОтветитьNah it ain't scary, it's boring
Ответить"What's more terrifying than that?"
Capitalism is the rich game. Where the ones have that power.
Hope russia is watching
