I loved this one
ОтветитьGreat video series, well done on completing this hike , also a second channel idea , Historic walks and talks with Stephen J Reid , I would watch the hell out of those vids, I love history , awesome views and ancient buildings <3 :D
ОтветитьAs a fellow Norn Irn man I really enjoyed the history lesson. I knew nothing about that connection to over here. So well done for educating me. But even more importantly, well done for completing this and putting up the videos.
ОтветитьI blame the Anglo-Saxons & I always will . if they had left Scotland alone no one would’ve died . My ancestor is black Douglas who thought beside King Robert de Bruce , battle of Bannockburn , defeating the English . My late great grandfather Douglas fought in WW2 my family had a proud history of fighters . Long live Scotland 🏴
ОтветитьKing billy , bankrolled by The Pope.
ОтветитьGreat storytelling, Stephen. This series was very enjoyable to watch, but I did feel your pain. Congrats and thanks for sharing your adventure!
ОтветитьI hate everything about the f..king U.K.
ОтветитьI have had a camera for years, the one time I had an accident I could prove there and then I was not liable.
I have said for a while that surely vehicle makers will add the functionality to their systems (new cars are covered in cameras), obviously Tesla have, Hyundai were supposed to put it on the new Kona, but sadly they haven’t (so I’ve recently had to replace a dying camera when I was instead holding out for delivering of my car…)
Superb story telling against an awesome backdrop Stephen, TV doc standard once again.
ОтветитьAbsolutely so good you are very talented film maker your visual sense, your sense of fun and your eloquence puts this above other vlogs. Loved it!
ОтветитьAwesome video. Loved it. Glencoe is probably the most beautiful place I’ve ever been.
ОтветитьBrilliant, well done. Excellent story telling 👍
Ответитьthis is your niche.....more historical tales while walking the landscape intertwined with outbursts of itchy bums lol please do more!!!!!!
ОтветитьThat was very interesting thank you
ОтветитьWas Mary wearing crocs?? :-) Really enjoyed this series!
ОтветитьJeez man I'm shamed to say this is the first of your WHW videos I've watched but what incredible story telling. I was glued to it
ОтветитьThat was really interesting, thank you and well done as it is a story that needed to be told. My grandfather on my fathers side was from Cork and his house was called Glencoo. My father moved to Dublin and had 4 children living in Glasnevin but shortly before I was born they moved to a new house on the Southside of the city and called it Glencoe. Probably because of his fathers house but also because they went on their honeymoon to Glencoe and Fort William. I always liked the name and knew about the "massacre" and had heard various versions. In the 90's I went to see Glencoe for myself with a friend and it really is spectacular. Thanks for taking the time to do the research and a detailed re telling of the story. I presume the significance of the name on my side of the family was to do with being catholic and republican although I am not sure on that score. Thanks again.
ОтветитьWatched your whole WAY series and enjoyed it all. Subbed to the channel to watch more too. Thanks for the entertainment
ОтветитьTwo videos down and I had to subscribe. Savage channel. Love from Dublin, keep up the good work
ОтветитьIt changed nothing... English contined to ethnically cleanse and murder Scots for generations... they murdered over 4 million Irish as well....
ОтветитьThe small town I grew up in Ontario, Canada, it's recreational center was a former Orange Hall. The entire area was settle by Scotts and those families live there to this day.
ОтветитьReally good series. Well done on your achievement!
ОтветитьWhere did you park the van?
ОтветитьWhat a great video! Amazing location, amazing story telling. Seriously- you are setting the bar for your creator peers. This is so much better than 95% of the crap that I pay for on streaming services.
ОтветитьThanks! Great series! Really enjoyable. ( lol, not sure you convinced me to hike this trail though! )
Ответитьgreat series man!
ОтветитьFuture friend here cheering for you ❤❤❤
ОтветитьLove this, it's like we go on the adventures with you.
ОтветитьIt's disgusting what the upper classes did to the ordinary people, all for greed and ambition
ОтветитьFantastic video and great information… really enjoyed it
Ответитьthe historic treatment of Celtic people in the UK is so horrific
Ответить🤞😑🤞Please don't be the English 🤞😑🤞

"Campbells also a Highland clan"
🫡PHEW!
Sit back, relax! 🍿🍺
Just finished the WHW two days ago. So great to watch and remember every stone as you're filming. Wish I'd watched this before I went. Quick question though... Why no blister plasters? My feet rejoiced because I used them. Canna go wrong. Well done, hear you on the anticlimactic ending but such a lovely community feel along the way.
ОтветитьJames II didn't 'pop his clogs.' He started pushing Catholicism back on England and Scotland causing turmoil and rioting. Another Civil War was about to start when he resigned. Glibness is cute, but get your facts straight. If Paris is worth a mass, then this history is worth more than a couple of podcasts.
Ответитьi hope you dont hate me because my family roots were Campbells. i think we should all be wise enough to realize our "glorious" leaders never had our best interests
ОтветитьGreat storytelling! Was fun seeing Fort William as I was there a little while ago after cycling down from Lewis after doing the Hebridean Way. I stopped at the 'Spoons and had a huge breakfast as I was starving after a brutal few days riding into the wind.
ОтветитьGlencoe never fails to amaze me! I'm from London, now living in Kilkenny but years ago back in the early 90's, before satnavs and mobiles, I'd load up my motorbike with a tent, a sleeping bag and a map along with a very vague idea of where I wanted to go and spend a week or so on the road travelling around and it was on one of these trips I discovered Glencoe. It was the combination of incredibly stunning yet unbelievably austere scenery along with the very friendly nature of all the Scots I met on my travels as well as some of the finest roads I've had the honour to ride and I'm hoping to get back there next year.
Thanks for such a great video.
Did not change anything, should have signed for the king, and there was not that many killed, people tell lies bout Glencoe.
ОтветитьAn amazing hike and made all the more interesting by including the history. Well done.
Ответитьhello from belfast
i just came across your channel yesterday and i love your content and i love it even better due to the fact your local and your content is very very interesting to watch
you deffo earned a sub from mee dude keep up the amazing content !!!!
We Scots have long memories lol…..had a friend from New Zealand who visited Scotland and was retracing her family roots. She was in a shop in that area and got talking to a local who asked what her name was, when she replied “Campbell” the local gave her a dirty look and said “ I don’t talk to Campbells “*and stormed off…. This was in 1995.
ОтветитьExcellent video and you present it so well.
ОтветитьCame for a tent review. Stayed for the adventure and stories. 10/10 would watch again.
ОтветитьThe slaughter of the MacDonalds was due to William of Orange ordering it, and the Campbells willing following orders. Evil bastards.
ОтветитьLoved your video series and you seem like a genuine guy but my experiences of walking the west highland way (3 times) have been completely different. They have all been extremely social events where everyone I have encountered have been lovely and egging me on. Even at the finish line people I didn't know were high fiving me and taking pictures with me. I've even made life long friends from it after solo hiking it. All the best. Ali.
ОтветитьCampbell's and McDonald's killing each other huh? Food empire rivalry going way back
ОтветитьWell, ive just sat and binge watched the whole of your WHW adventure. Congratulations 🎉 on completing it. Well done. Now im going to watch all your other videos. Thankyou for a great journey. Take care and i hope Billy Blister has recovered.
ОтветитьCame for the entertainment and ended up learning something. Great show!
ОтветитьCame to this channel for the review on filter bottles, stayed for the witty, articulate, interesting presentation style and geeking out on outdoor gear, hooked in by the history lessons. Triple threat! Well done.
