For anybody that hasn't watched this, just watch this video and skip to the 2nd season. The first season is all crap and fluff, so many emotional stories, nothing is clear, slow as slow can be. And btw, no guarantees about 2nd season, since i stopped watching all together. 3/10

Terrible show. Honestly one of the worst I’ve ever seen.

When I watched Invasion I got hooked and loved it, not seeing or understading the threat, and thought that was a common feeling but just now learning that a lot of people hated it, but to each their own... Some of yall would give JAWS 2/10 for not showing the shark enough.

I really like the series, but every time it goes back to that young Asian girl and her scenes, it just dragged on too long with her boohooing over her dead lover. My goodness, we get it , you’re hurting, but her scenes definitely slowed the pace a lot

My biggest criticism of this show is how freakin dark everything is. I understand utilizing shadows and darkness to give a creepy or unknown aesthetic especially to the aliens, but half the time when they focus on something the lighting is so poor you can’t even make out any details. Even when they’re trying to show you writing, several times I had to pause and lean forward while really trying to focus on small details, like Casper’s name written down in one particular section.

i really dislikes the niga soldier, very rude to locals and ungrateful bastard as hell

The first season was way too plodding and slow. It took itself too seriously. I hated the stupid racism tropes. Why does every writer have to depict all white people as ignorant racist trigger happy morons?? It’s just stupid and cliche. Really hoping the lace picks up in season 2. I’m a scifi nut so I’ll watch but really hope it gets better

So many question unanswered, but the biggest one is: how do you cheat on your wife while letting your geolocation sharing active?

This show is so freaking slow, boring and utterly dull that a 12min recap can perfectly cover the important parts of 10 full episodes where none is smaller rham 40min.

If you haven't seen this shit, take a hint and don't even start.

Worst SCIFI TV show ever. Compared to this garbage, Travolta's movie "Battlefield Earth", is Oscar worthy masterpiece.

My main issue with the show is that I don't care for any of the main characters.

Such a weak movie

It’s a great show surprisingly, definitely not the best ever and like all suspenseful scenes you get a little irritated, however it’s a slept on show that needs more attention

The worst amateurish scribbles for ideas loosely duct taped together into a ball with hundreds of millions of dollars thrown at it. Do not watch this nonsense.

I need to watch this recap before watching season 2. It's been two years so I need a refresher.

Thanks for saving me time, I got 3 episodes in and was bored to tears. The amount of time spent on "soap opera" drama i.e. infidelity, boy meets girl, lost love and retirements was a complete turn off. The series should be named "Feelings during a disaster". This is a complete misnomer with the utter lack of aliens or science, fictional or otherwise. There is more, far more, magnitudes more screen time dedicated to retirement parties, sunrise appreciation, marital problems and coy budding love than anything related to any type of Invasion. If you are a Sci-Fi fan, skip this one.

Only thing I hate about this show is coke. His character is beyond arrogant. Love the actor. Hate the character. All this ‘I’m an American everyone has to listen to me’.

I know there's a heap of comments regarding how bad this show is and I get it. But really, I can think of some other terrible series before this one. There's redeeming aspects. Golshiftah is great and so too the Japanese actor. The soldier is also solid. Season 2 steps up in pace and has some good special effects including strange but interesting interactions with the aliens. It's almost like it's learned from the glaring mistakes of its first season. It's kinda mindless as you don't have to think very hard but it's easy watching. A break from more cerebral shows out there that I've loved.
p.s Pantheon on prime if you haven't seen it, I promise you it is engrossing and the best thing I've seen since Severance.

What doesnt make sense to me is that these so called creatures are resistant to everything, yet old mate burns one and it dies, and a woman stabs one with a chuck of whatever steel. Luke has no idea where he got a chunk of said steel from and despite it being a massive plot point they dont investigate it.
The problem with these apple tv shows is they are 99% fluff 1% story.
I literally watch them on vlc and set my arrow key to skip 20 seconds and just keep spamming the arrow key. So Sooo much boring crap that doesnt need to be in there and nothing that should be.

As a director I woud've to focused everything on Mitsuki and her relationship with her lover, turning the story into a personal journey with universal implications. Such an approach would have been much more captivating and would have provided the opportunity for emotional development, epic sci-fi moments, and a strong connection between the audience and the main character.
Instead of wasting time and budget on boring subplots and unnecessary characters, they could have built a clear narrative thread:
Mitsuki and the mothership: Mitsuki could have a unique connection with the aliens - discovering codes, messages, or even a psychic link (like Arrival). She could be the only one who can communicate with them, and that would have added a layer of tension.
Relationship with the lover: Imagine how emotional it would have been to discover that her lover is somehow "absorbed" or part of the alien intelligence. The intense scenes where Mitsuki meets her in another form would have been moments of maximum charge.
Visual exploration: That forest of lights was one of the best scenes visually, but it could have been expanded. Why not turn the series into a mix of sci-fi story and gorgeous visual mysteries? Images of motherships, alien landscapes, mysterious symbols gradually deciphered all centered on Mitsuki.
Gradual progress: Instead of being chaotic, each episode could have added a clear piece to the puzzle: communication with aliens, discovery of a hidden truth, personal sacrifices that would make her even more heroic.
Such a focus would have also allowed for better special effects because there would have been no need to show 100 subplots from all kinds of corners of the world. The simple but deep story, with only a few characters, would have been much more effective.
