All they have to do is fix errors in the original movie and improve on the great parts. That goes for all these remaster cuz people don't want the same movie but don't want to have a completely new one either. Having less agi and good agi where needed is a strong reason why I think this movie will be good.

The original Lilo & stitch did not need updating or changing at all
It was perfect the way it is

This is why it's still beloved to this day
There is not one single problematic thing in the original.
And I dare you to challenge me on that.

Those sunglasses are from one of the toys that had hinged sunglasses that could be raised and lowered just like that! 😆

Hard disagree
It was fine
Still had fun but lots of changes
Hit most of the beats but missed most of the marks...
1 David is no longer like the perfect dude and is just kinda there as a blubbering dope for comic relief
2 No captain gantu which obviously changed the level of tension and was a big loss imo
3 Jumba and pikley use devices to disguise as humans so they're just people actors instead of CGI aliens which was really lame, Jumba also doesn't have an air of menace which dissolves before him settling with the family in the end, instead serving gantus purpose
4 Lilo and Nani aren't as emotionally charged or as comically rough in how they handle each other, lilos performance isn't amazing, look amazing little girl I don't think you can expect much more but she didn't deliver the weight emotionally
5 Stitches story arc gets cut a bit, there's no ugly duckling scene or anything and ALOT just felt rushed
6 Agent cobra bubbles isnt a huge cool black guy, he's just an aging black dude with glasses ...

Like it's fine , but it's just much weaker and less fun had they given it the budget and time which is sad. Because if they just gave it the money and time they'd likely make more profit margin than tryna take cuts for a lesser product that won't earn as much

Here the reasons why I loved this remake:

The message is the same of the original (unlike Snow “Anti-Fascism” White); the human cast is spot on (at least the main characters are Hawaiians and not from other nationalities); some characters are flashed out, like Lilo being a mischievous brat like a 6 years old kid should be (and DON’T YOU DARE TO LIE TO YOURSELF, YOU’VE BEEN NAUGHTY SOMETIMES AS A KID); Nani’s tragedy as an older sister who became a caretaker at cost of giving up her dreams and passions is more evident; Stitch is as funny and cute as ever; Jumba and Pleakley’s methods of disguise are more believable than dressing like Team Rocket’s disguises; the social services are portrayed more sympathetically and have a more empathetic approach than the classic stereotype of “glorified human loan sharks”; and the one who gets adapted out only appears for just 10 minutes at best, and it’s only important because of the series (admit it, no one would have miss them if it wasn’t for the series). When I’ve heard that Gantu won’t be there, I was like “Meh, whatever 😒”

You and I did not watch the same film.
The live action version is a dumbed down version of the original that takes away from the original characters and themes rather than improves them.
and what new themes they introduced they fail to give them any proper significance so that it could do without them and not loose anything, because this movie feels like just something you put on when you have nothing else to watch.

My girlfriend loves stitch so I'm surprising her by taking her to watch this on Sunday. She's under the impression the movie comes out next week

Adds 30 minutes to the original, and dismisses the original message by the end and you call it tightening the story?

Disney finally took the right approach when it came to an adaptation. Adding the neighbor as a guiding hand for Nani as she struggles with being the caretaker for Lilo really made everything seem real. On top of that the scenes didn't really sway away from the story and it was very grounded, The jokes were good, The conflicts felt real, and more importantly key elements of the animated series are found and tweaked so they look a lot better with actual people. 9/10 only because they didn't add Gantu.

Will you be watching the live action adaptation of Lilo and Stitch? Why or why not?
