Neighbor : where tf is my fence?
Kirby : Have you even met my audio yet?
Nice job, but see, professional speakers are not build with fiber boards because the speaker companies are cheap. The longer the fibers in the wood the more resonances the housing tends to have... and resonance means it favors certain tones (that might be or might not be chromatic notes)... and that kind of spoils the hard work.
ОтветитьHow are you wiring up that tweeter? I have wanted to do something like this 2 woofers and 1 tweeter. I have that same board and it is a stereo output correct?
Ответитьhow is the tweeter wired?
ОтветитьI'm watching in 2019 and I really appreciate your advice, my friends and I just built out first project with less than basic knowledge on audio, electronics and wood and I think everything is about having fun and learning. Greetings from Mexico!
ОтветитьBUYER BEWARE! Order #6475 Never sent to me yet Kirby has my $249.
ОтветитьWould it be better using one tweeter for each speaker?
Ответитьa single tweeter... they popularized stereo sound in 60's, but some schmuck with a nasa hat, said "FUCK IT, only one tweeter, just for one channel, noone needs to hear high-hats on the other channel, if they mixed them into the wrong channel, it's their fault".... Stupid sound engineers couldn't even predict this level of audio listening scenario, this will teach them...
ОтветитьWhy two woofers and one tweeter? Why not 4 woofers and 2 tweeters? Is there specific number for volume room or enclosure? I have 4 Onkyo speakers I was going to scavenge drivers etc from and wanted to build a bluetooth / rca soundbar. Do you angle the drivers differently to fill a room differently? Lots of strange questions I think of as I watch your videos... Thanks for the content
ОтветитьI've been checking out your videos and they are awesome and a lot of help! One thing I was wondering - Do you need a cross over if it is a full range driver, or can you connect the driver (like the Dayton PS95-8 you recommended in another video) right to the amp that you mentioned in this video as you don't need to split the signal. I'm brand new to making speakers and would like to make one as a wedding present (I'm a decent wood worker but brand new at doing speaker components). Thanks for all the info so far!
ОтветитьWaiting on the rock and bigger rock Flintstones speaker
ОтветитьBro ur awesome 😎
ОтветитьYou know what I'd like Kirby? Knowing what you know now, how would you upgrade components and box for improved sound.
ОтветитьDo you have anything with a lot of bass? Currently using a Doss soundbox xl sound is amazing but I’m interested in something like the diamondboxx model m. Let me know if you could build something with bass and good clear highs
ОтветитьYou talk so much why don't you make the speaker now
ОтветитьThis is the speaker I'd like to see plans for: Has volume pot, on/off switch (I'd like to have a pot style on/off switch in addition to the separate volume pot ), AUX IN (which could play aux input simultaniously with bluetooth input), wall power supply, as far as I can see, other plans do not have all of these elements combined.
ОтветитьYes to conmentary, please.
ОтветитьSpeaker build idea:
Vintage floor standing radio.
Gut and replace with new parts.
Possibley make it into a juke box with raspberry pi.
Really enjoy the videos man! Keep up the good work, and just as you said; just have fun with it!
Ответитьi think its in the electrical when someone with little to no experience gets lost maybe a little more details when connecting all that
Ответитьwhy only one tweeter?
Ответитьplease talk about the dimension of the cabinet
ОтветитьI like the idea of commentary over the build video. Maybe going over some woodworking techniques or WHY you picked certain components.
Ответитьim going to start a build but i dont know what power supply to get and the jack i will need or how to hook it all up inside the box
Ответитьis it possible to do stereo with mono tweeter in middle? how would tweeter be wired?
ОтветитьExperiment and have fun...that's good advice.
Ответитьcan you explain me about assembling all the electronic components and how to determine the power needed for a speaker, like a watt for amp and selection of twiter and subwofer that is suitable for the amp. thanks
ОтветитьThe box size,, perfect to that size of driver.
And,, there's not a damn thing wrong with drywall screws. They're the easiest to use, because, sometimes the sharp self tap comes in handy.
I can't build my own boxes from scratch, but when I've helped others,, my knowledge, and flat out guessing have turned out pretty fair.
I just found your channel and it's honestly one of the best channels I've found in a long time. I can't wait to watch these and hopefully learn something in the process. Thank you for all you do.
ОтветитьAdd another tweeter my God!!
ОтветитьHEY KIRBY. Thanks for all the vids. Got me inspired! I have one quick question though. What power source do use to power the the amp board? I have looked around a bit and the 12 volt and higher voltage power supplies here (Australia) are somewhat expensive. Curious...
ОтветитьCan you do a optical contact speaker ?
ОтветитьYes, please do comments over the build video which will give us an idea of your thought process when you build.
Ответитьsome page online to acquire Speaker of good quality and affordable price. I watch your videos and they are very good. Greetings from Chiapas Mexico.
ОтветитьI'd really love to see mono powered speaker build, like a 1 x full range with bluetooth. There's stacks of stereo kits and speakers around but I'd love to see a small/compact single speaker build! Especially how you'd wire it up. Love your channel!
ОтветитьIs using some car audio speakers an option or better to get dedicated hifi audio speakers ? thanks
ОтветитьOne suggestion: You should mount two tweeters. That will make a remarkable difference, Believe me!
ОтветитьYou could take a page from Primitive Technology and add descriptive subtitles to explain your steps.
Also, showing the formulae you use to determine capacitors and inductors for crossovers, maybe even for your amp circuit, would be great
Kirby, love your videos and love this new Build Talk idea............However, I WANT THAT HAT!
ОтветитьI'm diggin this forum man. Very cool! Take care!
ОтветитьWhere do you get your videos music from?
ОтветитьHow to make a waterproof speaker
ОтветитьThanks for the intro on how your design process works! I would be interested in knowing how to build a powered electric guitar amplifier about this size. PLEASE talk about what components would have to be employed in such a design?
ОтветитьI need your address so I can come over and use your setup.
ОтветитьMost importantly wearing a NASA Hat is necessary or it wont work!
ОтветитьMaybe you could show a bit more about the crossover components, their soldering etc. I love this new 'video-type'!
ОтветитьI'm a mail carrier and a hobbyist woodworker. For a while now, I've wanted to build my own bluetooth speaker so I can either listen to audiobooks or music while I sling mail. I really appreciate your videos for the ideas they give me. Now if I can only put those ideas into action and make something that works for what I need.
Ответитьyou want to use two rocks to make a speaker? How about just the one. That would be impressive ;) Just kidding, great to have you back and great to see your content expanding. Keep it up
ОтветитьHey, you could do video, where you talk and show how to wire everything. Im just about to build my first speakers ever. Video, where you talk about wiring everything could help ALOT! Thank you, Kirby :)
