Ответить"Hurt" is a 1954 song by Jimmie Crane and Al Jacobs. "Hurt" was originally performed by Roy Hamilton, whose version peaked at number eight on the R&B Best Seller chart and spent a total of seven weeks on the chart.[1] A version by Ricky Denell also received considerable radio airplay in 1954 on pop radio stations. The song is considered to be the signature hit of Timi Yuro, whose version went to number four on the Billboard pop chart in 1961. Juice Newton's 1985 version scored number one on Billboard's Country chart.

They always call it blue-eyed soul, but she was Italian and for the most part, we don't have blue eyes lol
ОтветитьI am so grateful to have been the age where I can say this was our music. The mid 1950’s & early ‘60’s music was heartfelt and pure of soul. Timi Yuro singing “Hurt” made the fissure in my heart even wider. She sang what I felt. We didn’t have to wince and cover our children’s ears when today’s music? is being played. Disrespect and full of profanity is being deemed as music in today’s times. I can guarantee 60 years from now no one will recall the trash or who sang it. It will, I hope, be in the dumpster where it belongs. Think about this:so many of the great artists and groups of the 1950’s & 1960’s were Black. We loved and bought their 45’s. They reached inside and took hold of our hearts. I have a feeling they’re turning over in their graves!
ОтветитьI've told a few you tubers about the wonderful, powerful voice of Timi Yuro for awhile now! (Maybe you two?) I totally fell in love with here voice as a young child around 1960-63 & I can tell you there is a Lot more of her music to check out! Her voice STILL Captivates me....
ОтветитьI never heard of her! First reaction for me too! Such a unique voice👏👏👏👏👏
ОтветитьI think she was 21 years old here.........what a voice
Ответить❤❤❤
ОтветитьThe raw emotion of this song is what is missing from most if not all of the songs today whether autotuned or not.
ОтветитьMel, you have a tender man.
ОтветитьGoosebumps on top of goosebumps.
ОтветитьShe's sings from the heart with all her ❤️
Ответить2 great.
ОтветитьSo beautiful!
ОтветитьWhat's a matter baby.fever my prayer and so many more great renditions NY miss yuro. Good job. I knew she'd move you.
ОтветитьRosemary Victoria arruo, aka timi yuro, small Italian lady with the big voice. The parents owned a pizzeria store that Elvis would visit when he was in town. Elvis used to attend her las vegas shows when ever she was performing there
ОтветитьOh! Oh! I remember when my "boyfriend" in high school, cheated on me and I was crushed! That very night I heard this song on my radio and I cried a river over this jerk! Then came Timi Yuro's song, "What's The Matter, Baby"! BLEW MY MIND! I eventually did not just get even with him, I GOT AHEAD! Timi Yuro, was one of a kind voice! NO "singer" sings like that now-a-days!!
ОтветитьYou're so sensative you two, love your reaction, and I love that song very much good bless you
ОтветитьI loved Timi. What's a matter baby was my favorite. I was young then.
ОтветитьI'd be like Cedric the Entertainer, "Ooh. Come on, now. It's only Tuesday." Lol. 😂 Lord. That one did hurt.
ОтветитьIt is so sad that too few even know of Timi, her performance is awesome. I'd love to see more reactions of her work.
ОтветитьAnd to think, no auto tune, no pitch correction, no reverb, no compression technology to make her talent sound super human, just pure talent to be able to move you with her great voice and emotional depth.
ОтветитьVery sad song; RIP Timi YURO; RIP, that all I can say. Amen
ОтветитьA Chicago South Side product! Way ahead of her time and sadly her career was mismanaged. And some of today's female singers want to be called a "Diva". Shame on you!
ОтветитьCheck out it'll never be over for me, a northern soul classic
ОтветитьDid you here her sniffle and catch her breath?😢
ОтветитьSis could SANG!! Beautiful ❤
ОтветитьNever heard this song before, my god talk about feeling her pain good grief! What a beautiful voice!

ОтветитьI'm sorry, I don't agree. She didn't touch me at all and I'm an emotional person.
Elvis sings it perfectly in 1977 7 weeks before he died.
Thr words are beautiful. She has a lovely voice but I prefer Elvis's version in 1977 7 weeks before he died. He mafe me emotional.
