The grassmarket wasn’t just a livestock market. It was also Edinburghs corn exchange. You walked right over the inscription on the slabs.

ОтветитьI loved your tour John! You have a beautiful voice so easy to listen to, like music to my ears! ( I’m half Scottish) reminding me of my heritage ❤️❤️
ОтветитьHello John, just subscribed (came from the detecting site, love both).
Cheers.
I started watching your videos earlier this year and love the walks you do. We are planning to visit in ‘25 and find this all really useful as to where we should go and do.
ОтветитьTaikuu John, what a beautiful city and castle. Is there a Family in resident @ the castle? And are there ever any tours of the inside? Thank you again.. From Alaska, USA.

ОтветитьI have a Harkness ancestor hanged there. Hope to stand one day soon.
ОтветитьHello John. Wel you hearn my subscription today 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
ОтветитьYes. Yes, I will. Still so much to see, despite doing three walking tours in two days, and bombing around the Castle and Holyrood. Middle-aged and creaky, but determined. Enjoying both channels. Cheers. 👍😉
ОтветитьI am a “Potter Head” & I enjoyed the tour!
ОтветитьThis video was amazing! Edinburgh is an amazingly historic, well-maintained city! I heard it is a booklover's dream with all it's bookshops. I collect miniature books and there are several book makers in that area. Would love to visit someday, but until then I have your videos to live vicariously through!! Cheers from Minnesota, USA!!🥰🥰🥰
ОтветитьWanted to say thanks John. It's embarrassing to admit this but I grew up in Scotland. I still fly home regularly and used to work in the Cowgate long ago. I learned 4 things in 13 minutes that I did not know about the city and area steps away from where I worked for years. Everyone should watch these tours, worth every minute
ОтветитьI know I said this on your last video but I just wanted to say it again. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you posting these videos. I have always loved Scotland and due to my physical disabilities, I will never be able to go there. It means more than you know to not only get to see these places, but to learn more about the history from somebody who lives there. So, thank you for brightening my day.
ОтветитьAwesome Tour.
Ответить#3 on my bucket list. Come and take a tour with you 🍻
ОтветитьI managed to find 15mins of not quite solitude whilst camping. Great video and I once again enjoyed the history.
Ответитьwell presented and what a beutifal city will visit sometime in my life .
