One of my very favorite episodes-- the reading of Edith's will. The tension between Joan Bennett and Louis Edmonds is wonderful. Edmonds' disdain for Bennett is so well done and Selby and Karlen round out this great scene.
ОтветитьYou speak it, Judith! Joan Bennett at her best!
Ответить"OH EDWARD, I'M GOING TO CRY!!!" God, Quentin cracks me me up
ОтветитьThank you for posting will be my Friday fright night entertainment ☺️
ОтветитьA great episode! Joan Bennett was the best! Thanks for posting!
ОтветитьWhy is Angelique no longer a vampire 🧛🏻♀️?
Is it because that happened in present day?
Anyone understand? Help me out here?
I enjoyed it when Judith ( Joan Bennett ) puts on that smile as she read the will ... that's one way to start a party . 🎉🤑 One of the best scenes of D.S. Edward.and especially Carl have to be so pathetic .
ОтветитьI watched this show when it aired with my late mother. we loved it I would run home from school everyday we got out the same time it started. a few months back I watched the show series again. remember when Joan Bennett was afraid of being buried alive and was. the part where she walked in Collinwood and said Im back everyone was surprised but to me not near enough. I thought ok she just came back from the dead... turn the page lol. after all she wasnt a vampire or a witch. I didnt remember kate jackson ( Daphne) in the first series ? she was simply beautiful in her 20s. Caroline did that accent so good of Pansy they let her do it again later. she was so cute like she was born with it. never be another Dark Shadows . my childhood would not have been the same
ОтветитьJohn Karlen as Carl is one of the best things about 1897!
ОтветитьMe encantaba cuando era niña!!!!
ОтветитьY aún me facina !!!!
ОтветитьI love this show. Watched it as a kid with my mom. Bought her the entire series.
ОтветитьThe costume designer of that era did an impeccable job with the outfits
ОтветитьWho was the scriptwriter for this episode? The dialogue is sparkling, witty. You can tell the actors are thoroughly enjoying it. And the direction and camerawork really shines.
ОтветитьThis was supposed to be a soap opera. I'm glad it turned into a horror series.
ОтветитьThis clip cuts off before Quentin rejects any idea of killing Judith as it would not benefit him at all, just before he outlines his future plans with one of the best ever Quentin lines of the series: "Now that I am firmly established in residence here, I shall devote myself to a life of pleasure with the available ladies of the house."
ОтветитьCome Madeline walk across the playground and be nibbled on the neck. Grade school memories of seventh grade hot girls in 1966.
ОтветитьThis was done quite well. 'Grandma may have given me the back of her hand financially, but, at least I have a permanent residence here at Collinwood', something to that great affect, lol.
ОтветитьThe ending of the episode and Joanie's performance is VERY reminiscent of "The Little Foxes" (41) where Regina / Bette Davis let her grasping Brothers know who's Boss / who holds the Phallus around here. There will be no more bargaining in this house, boys, this isnt my first time to the Rodeo ! Love how Bennett can pour on the "Bxtch Goddess" !
ОтветитьIntriguing scenes!
ОтветитьThe acting is oscar worthy 👏
ОтветитьI watch this on decade channel. And love it my Dad and I use to watch this all the time he's know longer here. He's got his Wings know. But watching this know brings back great memories. Thank you very much for bringing this back.
ОтветитьI can't get over how much makeup the women are wearing on their eyes! The fake eye-lashes are so heavy looking! Gosh! Even the male actors are wearing eye makeup! The sixties must have been weird indeed! ~Janet in Canada
Ответить1897 has always been my favorite storyline. Maybe because that was when I first started watching it, but it is like quintessential DS. 😊❤️
Magda, Judith, Rachel (later Lady Hampshire), Quentin, Trask, Count Petofi, and a bunch of others. And, of course, Barnabas.
Angelique was SOOOOOO evil. I'm not sure she would have been happy even if she got Barnabas. People like that never are.
ОтветитьIt was actually a HUGE thing during that time for the eldest son to be essentially disinherited like that. 😮😂
ОтветитьAngelique wouldn't destroy Barnabas. She wants to have him around to torment him. In the past Barnabas tried to get Ben Stokes to destroy him and Angelique stopped it.
ОтветитьGo get your brothers so I can read you all your obituaries! Great line!
ОтветитьOmg so great idk 🤷♀️ how I never knew these characters ⁉️
ОтветитьLove the background music on DS.
ОтветитьOh No! She's walking through the woods!!!!!
ОтветитьI find it odd when Edward gets upset with Barnabas asks if his wife dead. How in the world would anyone know they should not ask about her.
What a odd ball.
They cut off before my favorite part - when Quentin says that after Judith speaks to the staff maybe they can all come back and watch her write a check 😂
ОтветитьJudith and Magda so good ❤️ 🤲
ОтветитьDamn!! Judith laid the smackdown at the end. 😅😅
Great show!!
"Edward, I think I'm gonna cry "...."He looks like the aftermath of one of his practical jokes"...Selby at his most sarcastic cracks me up everytime!!! Edward's evil scowl is hilarious too...
ОтветитьJoan Bennett ate and left no crumbs in this episode😁
ОтветитьAngelique was OBSESSED with Josette, Maggie and Rachel.
ОтветитьAngelique might be a monster but I ❤ that character.
ОтветитьNarrow minded, selfish, old maid???
Ответитьin this part on the show they made joan bennet out to be an ugly old maid but in reality she was a very beautiful woman! when we were kids my brother and i would argue because i said angelique (lara parker) was the prettiest one and my brother said it was nancy barrett. we actually asked my dad one day to decide the question. the one and only time he ever watched dark shadows. and he said they were all pretty but down the road none would be as beautiful as joan bennet! not sure if he was right. they all were beautiful !
ОтветитьBarnabas YOU'RE HOT.
