The British in fact sent More "convicts" yes people who took a piece of bread, to the American penal Colonies and for a much longer period than they sent to Australia. Many, Many more White people in America are related to convicts than in Australia. America today can trace their ancestors back to convicts or slave owners, then in Australia.
