There have always been real estate investors - no doubt. The thing that is different is the kind of investor. The number of institutional investors coming in and buying up large numbers of residential real estate has jumped.

And it’s not just blackrock, there are many others doing the same thing.

Real estate investors bought a record 18.4 percent of the homes that were sold in the United States in the fourth quarter of 2021, up from 12.6 percent a year earlier, according to the realty company Redfin.

Its always been a thing - now it’s a bigger thing. Definitely something to think about.
