wish i knew you were here i could have shown you lots more
ОтветитьI caught out the corner of my eye loads of crunchy nut bowls in that tiny shop which sell strong for good money used.. 😢
ОтветитьWell that was shocking!!! £63 for a M&S jacket, was it made from the spun hair of angels? 😅
ОтветитьAll the cheap charity shops in Scarborough are out of the centre towards Falsgrave which is literally a 15 minute walk away from town and we only found that out when we were there on holiday and we're looking for Sainsbury's. There are cheap charity shops in West Yorkshire though - just not Hebden Bridge as that's touristy. I guess that's the issue though - the more tourism a place gets the higher the charities put their prices.
ОтветитьIts insane that I sit here in Bridlington watching your videos everytime you upload, and then you came here on holiday. Its like breaking the fourth wall 😂
ОтветитьYou should come to Edinburgh. Charity shops are more expensive than some retail shops! Items in the window are listed at £200-300 for some clothing!
Do you ever get worried that this will be the case in the near future where you won’t be able to source from charity shops anymore?
Great video as always.
There real adidas hamburgs lol fz2692 code
ОтветитьI'm from Scarborough and the charity shops here are always the same, lots of resellers in the area and there are also a couple of shop managers who put the good items aside for themselves or friends.
In the summer I used to to a big charity shop hunt on a Saturday, get a "East Yorkshire Round Robin" train rover for £20, and hop on and off the train at all the towns along the route, spend just over an hour at each larger town charity shop hunting.
If you're ever back in the area, its a fun challenge to-do.
Its grim up north mate😂
ОтветитьHi George ..
Wondering when your next bootsale video will be...love the charity shop videos to..wow there were some expensive items in the shops you visited, but I guess it is for charity..till I see you again on the next one from Scarlett,Hubby and my 6 dogs...
Can you please give me a big shout out on your next video please...❤
Why do you want everything for cheap/free ??
ОтветитьHi George. I’ve been watching your videos, for a while now, and love them. I was wondering if you can give me any advice, on how to make eBay work. I’ve listened to your advise, but people are looking, adding to watch list, but not buying. Is this normal when just starting out. Thank you. Hope you and your family are all keeping well.
ОтветитьThe charity shops are the same here in Devon. So expensive.
ОтветитьThe charity shops in Bridlington are better than Scarbro, also one by the McDonalds free parking
ОтветитьI've found that all the charity shops are getting expensive now, like you said british heart foundation is the most expensive 😬
ОтветитьWhere did you get those clip on lights you use? Want something similar for my setup! Cheers in advance
ОтветитьDon't bother going in my locals anymore. Fast fashion stuff selling for £8 seconds hand is not a good bargain.
I'm always surprised at the deals you find because the shops up north are shockingly expensive.
We are s
Resllers from scarborough and the prices are horrendous
Catch 22 for the resellers with an online presence, making money from the platform however the more popular their channels and more ideas they give to Joe Public on what to look out, the wiser sellers get and the wiser the buyers get on what to snap up.
I’ve started selling on eBay since October and made a tidy profit, would love to share what I’ve picked up but worried I won’t be able to find deals if everyone is aware haha!
M&S blazer - 62.99...... Wow. They get these clothes for FREE and they're supposed to be a charity helping people with little or no income, vile.
ОтветитьYou should of headed Beverley way....leave the tourist trap Scarborough.... I'm sure you would of found a plenty Beverley way.
ОтветитьWhy not £100 ?
ОтветитьNoooooooo yorkshire accents pls
ОтветитьThis is exactly what happened to me in Ilkley! Loved that last clip
ОтветитьBae gum it’s dear oop there…!
ОтветитьYour Yorkshire accent has improved since the last video George 😅 Scarborough shops was better about a year ago but its gotten a but pretentious, as you can see. Yorkshire is cheap, but I figure as there’s less designer stuff going around there’s like a scarcity mentality and they (the shops) whack the prices up. It’s more likely to be well worn too as people hold onto their one or two nice pieces for longer before replacing. Just a theory. Hope you enjoyed your holiday!
ОтветитьThe lady had a price list for brands ! It’s a miracle how they sell enough to even keep the doors open.
ОтветитьMost charity shops base their prices on eBay sold listings which leaves no margin for profit.
ОтветитьHow are these charity shops staying open? they should be ashamed.
ОтветитьCharity shops are way too expensive for people who need to buy to wear and also too expensive for resellers. Charities should price for resellers to make bit of profit then stock sells too x
ОтветитьHi George, hope you are having a lovely holiday! Come to Ipswich /Felixstowe/woodbrige lots of great charity shops and cheap........ Not too far from you.
ОтветитьYour probably back in Essex now but Beverley has some amazing charity shops .. so if you come to Yorkshire again you should definitely check it out they have loads on there high street. great video with the fam .
ОтветитьThat’s the worst Yorkshire accent I’ve ever heard 😂
ОтветитьWelcome to my neck of the woods 😂
ОтветитьRidiculous prices! ..... back to Vinted George!
Ответитьplease stop trying to talk like a yorkshireman :)
ОтветитьCharity shops have gone ridiculous with their prices way to high xx love your videos xx❤
Ответитьyep its ridiculous try whitby lol
ОтветитьThese shops will shut down soon. Over priced no one will pay that for second hand clothes.
ОтветитьResellers have done this!
ОтветитьHa, ha! Northerners are savvy. It's a seaside town. They priced up in the hope visitors would pay for it. You would probably have done better in an inland Yorkshire town. Scarborough is a nice place those. Lovely beaches around and nice places to eat too. My mother in law ended her days in a nursing home in Scarborough so for 6 months or so my husband and I got the chance to make multiple visits and explore it. There's a really freaky taxidermy shop up in one of the streets running parallel to the main town beach. Crazy place.
I hope you enjoyed your holiday regardless of the lack of bargains.
A lot of comments berating charity shops for their pricing. What many fail to acknowledge, is that the primary purpose of these shops is to raise the maximum funds possible for the individual causes they represent. They do not exist to clothe the local population for pennies, or give huge profits to resellers. I don’t often hear criticism calling out mainstream retailers for ripping off the public, with their phoney “sales” whilst making huge margins on garments produced in appalling working conditions by child labour. But hey, charities are an easy target. People need to get a grip.
ОтветитьThe wages for C.E.O's on 6 figure salaries and DEI bosses getting paid to do nothing have to come from somewhere!!!!
ОтветитьNice to see you in Yorkshire, only we don’t all talk like your impression. Gods own County is stunning and not full of flat caps and whippets.!
ОтветитьIn a local charity shop in my home town I bought a few items and I asked for a bag. The man serving said "I've got to charge you for the bag" !! I told him to piss off
ОтветитьGeorge does google never understand your cockney accent
ОтветитьCharity shops are getting so expensive and greedy to say they have everything given..
ОтветитьCheck the salaries of senior staff who work for these charities. That's the problem
ОтветитьNo wonder no one shops in British heart Foundation they are greedy
Ответить
