The truth is Robert, a lot of people are deeply wounded and side tracked by their family experience. Those early cuts are incredibly hard to overcome and that I’m afraid is most people don’t reach their personal summits.

I have found my mission. It is difficult to stay on the true path with day to day life getting in the way but I will continue moving forward even if it kills me.

How do we have any meaning in life. We are just like animals. Just to live, eat, survive and die.

I believe Purpose starts with God.
Saying we are from a Big bang, a fish in the sea evolved to us, gives no meaning to us.

We were made in the image and Likeness of God and therefore have a destiny and a purpose. There's a higher unseen power

Thank you for making this video, the one that stands out to me the most is when you talk about being young and faking it, I have some redemption as I've always studied languages, I speak Japanese very well and in my chess progress I have beet 3 titled players including the computer at (2600) "just 50 shy of grandmaster" but best of all I'm an artist I draw insane photorealism with many different mediums my favorite being watercolors or colored pencil.
The good news is I'm still 23 years old.
I've done a mix of construction and remodeling.
Im in really good shape at 170 lbs being a sports enthusiast and particularly boxing and MMA.

Selfwill and determination not all humans have that attribute. This can be a make or break in some life situations. Live Love Life. Lol and don't forget to include your Wife family maybe friends. Life is hard and short.

I have 4 interests - Philosophy, Songwriting, Screenwriting, and Spiritual Research. None of these trigger a willingness to give 10,000 hours to it. And people don't respond well to anything I do. So I aimlessly swap between these activities. It's just killing time at this point.

This gets very difficult when your life's task is abstract.

Robert Greene, in my mind, is truly a life changing mentor. He certainly is for me. But, a person has to be willing to learn and receptive to his, thoughts ideas & suggestions.
There is an adage that says "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear".

Good stuff, and I appreciate your perspectives here. While I am definitely looking for it, I continue to feel I've NOT found my life's task/purpose and am desperate in a real sense to find it, AND at 58+ years old and working the same industry for 40 years and with the clock seemingly ticking faster, it is a painful conundrum. When I look back at my younger time like you talk about, I see it, I see so many of the clues and ultimately, I feel the answer/s right in front of me....making art. BUT it feels like a curse, cause the payoff is so limited and buried under concrete in a locked room down a dark tunnel. Life seems often cruel, or maybe, life seems cruel when we make it so? I don't friggin know. I'm exhausted.

I HAVE A GOOD AVICE : since we inherit many things genetically from our parents, grand parents etc we have to look at what work they did . I myself founding myself being drawn to all the professions and interested in similar fields and interests my grandparents and parents had.

I'm approaching retirement age. I can look back over decades of trying to find my 'call' and never really 'getting it'... I've done so many different things and worked in so many different fields, and done so many courses of training....
At some point, about 18 years ago, I kind of slotted into a particular field and have stuck with it. Is it my 'call'? I don't know. But it has allowed me enough freedom to 'do it my way' and that has helped tremendously!

Dude talks SO much without saying anything of substance, I don't get the hype.

The need to make money to support yourself or family ends out being a great roadblock to actualizing or working towards your life’s task. It’s a shame to have to retire from an unsatisfying job that paid well in order to have the time to do this, but I know it happens.
