As a new dad, I’m struggling with feeding while the baby is moving a lot while feeding and I have a tendency of letting the milk spilled on their bibs and clothing. I’m struggling with positioning of feeding them and all.

Any tips for breast feeding together with bottle feeds ?

1 week in I almost gave up breastfeeding cause the latch was ungodly painful!! Finally had a good day today where the pain was better and only pain for the first 10 seconds. Hope my nipples keep getting better and used to it.

For me this video has popped up at 2 months post partum and I wish I had seen it before I introduced formula milk cause I thought my baby wasn’t getting enough to eat but I remember I expressed 30mls per hour to 2 hours so that was fine and she wanted cluster feeds which made me think I wasn’t feeding her enough but she latched well and she did had wet diapers. I regret introducing formula to my baby.. I wanted to breastfeed her exclusively but it was hard especially cause I had a C-section so I was in pain and anxious most of the time.

I'm currently dealing with a very fussy newborn who does seem to show all of the classic "i'm hungry signs" but won't latch to moms breast or will actively push away from the breast. It's exhausting and causing my wife to stress about him getting enough food. However, we're tracking time on breasts, which breasts, and in at least two instances we were able to get him to eat via a breastmilk bottle. He has a decent amount of wet diapers per day. I'm hoping my wife will watch this episode and feel better about our attempts and I'm going to encourage her to get a consultation with a lactation consultant. We had one come in while we were in the hospital post birth but at that time, little one was very amenable to the tips from the consultant. in the past few days however, he's become increasingly fussy....its why I'm watching this video at 2 AM on a Wednesday morning.

I started pumping exclusively because i had complications and had to get surgery done 2weeks after having little one. We were still working on latching because she wasn't. I hadn't really pumped so i only had enough milk for about a week because i was told to pump and dump from some of my nurses and doctors while recovering. My supply was going low. My mom had to give her formula while i was still recovering in the hospital. So i pump more than breast feed. We are fighting Nipple confusion and reteaching to latch without the pain and cracked skin... your vids have helped me with delivery, heres to the next leg of our journey.

When you say wetting the diapers, you mean with piss with poop or just piss?

Hello there..thank you so much for this infirmative video.. im a new mom with 2weeks and days baby.. kinda stress if my baby is overfeeding. I gave him pump breast milk and formula since i dont make alot of milk...but were trying to do direct breastmilk feeding..i just need confirmation and clarification if im doing the right thing.

My baby has tongue tied issues. I have taken them to 2 paediatricians and both of them have confirmed that the tongue tie is there but a medical intervention is not required at this time. I am just confused that if we leave it for long can it have any unwanted affects on the baby’s growth?

I lose my mind every time I hear "feed every 2-3 hours."
We prepare the bottle or breast before waking my daughter, so she goes immediately from sleep to food.
Start the clock.
From waking her to finishing feeding, burping, changing clothes, multiple diaper changes is about an hour and a half. Then comes the battle of soothing her back to sleep. Another hour.
Stop the clock.
2.5 hours of caring for her followed by half an hour of sleep before starting the shit show over again?!!!! How is that the recommendation?

My baby came out the womb taking 2oz per feed (I had to give him formula after my c-section). He's 6 weeks now and I officially gave up breastfeeding. I had complications after my c-section and was too tired to try to pump every 2 hrs and my baby wasn't latching. I tried a lactation consultant and she was extremely condescending so I was just over it. My milk has depleted so much and I hate it because I planned to breastfeed for up to a year.

Definitely check for tongue ties but also lip ties!
