When will the ability to chat with external parties be available? Our organisations are not able to use Hangouts Chat until that is available.

"Hangouts" is a terrible name for a productivity/conferencing tool.

How about the very basic ability to share a screen with another person without having to go through the multiple steps of creating a meeting. Or making it so that it blinks on your screen or shows a notification in Windows when someone pings you? Such basic functionality should exist in a chat application

First time I downloaded Hangouts for work I had to explain to my husband this was for work and not a dating app, just in case he saw it on my phone desktop. LOL

Have not heard anything about this tool since it was released. Because of this, not adopting it because it will most likely be killed off by Google due to lack of marketing. When Goole loses interest, thing disappear.

So far it stinks. For what my company uses hangouts for, this is totally overkill & unnecessary. All we need is a place to send a quick chat message or have a short conversation about a student. We don't need all the rest of it. They need to keep an option for just using something like hangouts for simply chatting. Meetings, appts, sharing etc isn't needed.
