In UK, we have to pay 20% tax on Silver purchases from reputable retailers. A 20% gain in Silver value has been impossible in recent times. In USA, do you pay tax on Silver purchased?

What seems to be new is that, in a highly inflationary economy, property owners finally noticed. Wasn't this the basis for California's Proposition 13 in the late 1970's, also a highly inflationary period? Cali voters capped, by state constitutional amendment, the increase in tax valuations on their real property.

I am in the financial services industry and have been told at work that FINRA (the regulatory body of the industry) does not want advisors pushing physical gold or silver. So probably the vast majority of the audience listening will have to deal with this type of situation with their own financial advisor.
