if I wasn't a coward I would've been a bio major 😞
ОтветитьThis is the type of shorts we want
ОтветитьWhere is man going to put the alanine screen
ОтветитьWalking out of the lab after completing my first Western Blot during Intro to Biology freshman year was the first time I really felt like a scientist.
ОтветитьThis is going to be a hard one to beat!
ОтветитьHave been to a lab where i did a Westernblot the whole day and didnt get a single Signal. About to do my Second one in two weeks Wish me luck
ОтветитьFun Fact: Western Blot is (probably) the ONLY CONFIRMATORY TEST to detect HIV.
ОтветитьAnother reason why western blot is top tier: the results are at the protein level which are the true actors upon the system. It’s not like DNA or RNA where there should be correlation but not always.
It’s one of my major GOATs
I do have to disagree with it only taking one day though. Most primary antibodies need overnight incubation unless it’s something abundant like alpha tubulin (where you can get away with 1 hour). At best, it takes about 2 days for most antibodies and that includes using a Turbo Transfer. If you’re using overnight wet transfer (best for large proteins), the western blot takes a maximum of 3 days.
