The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV will be produced in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, at the automaker's facility utilizing batteries from a battery factory it established nearby in Bibb County.

The Mercedes-Benz factory in Sindelfingen, Germany, which serves as a model for the company's Factory 56 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, employs cutting-edge digital, sustainable, efficient, and flexible manufacturing techniques. Mercedes-Benz is already able to create battery-electric vehicles in significant quantities due to early investments in flexible manufacturing and the use of the cutting-edge MO360 digital production environment.

The five-passenger EQS SUV is built on the same modular platform as Mercedes' EQS flagship and EQE medium cars. It is based on the company's largest utility vehicle, the GLS. The carmaker can swiftly increase operations by utilizing a shared platform.

The EQS SUV is one of the largest totally electric utility cars in the well-liked full-size utility vehicle category and can seat seven people with the addition of an optional third row. It has a three-screen technology called the MBUX Hyperscreen, which combines beneath scratch-resistant glass to look as a single, 56-inch display.

The SUV will be offered in two variations: a high-performance EQS 580 4MATIC model with 536 horsepower, and a base model EQS 450+ with 335 horsepower. According to WLTP calculations, it can go more than 372 kilometers on a full battery charge.
