I own the Nikkor Z 85mm f/1.8S, which is a beauty. However, this looks pretty decent for the price. Even with the soft corners, I think it's worth the price. I'd like to see how autofocus performs for video.

In most cases, portrait photos are not hurt in the slightest by soft corners. Much of the time, those parts of the image are only displaying bokeh anyway, so.. I'd consider that a minor issue with this lens.

the viltrox is a good budget 85mm lense, but compare to the nikon 85mm 1.8s lense is overall better you pay for what you get.

I watched your review of this lens and re-watched it again today, 1 day after buying this lens just yesterday (7/24/22). I especially like the 50% savings over the Nikon version. It also happens to be my first Z mount lens for my new Z9. The rest of my large lens collection are a combination of Nikon and Tamron F mount lenses.

Any long term review on the same? I've heard from a few stating, it stopped working all of a sudden.

The problem is that there aren't any on the used market making the price only a bit lower than a used Nikon 85mm S, so it's tricky if you're on a budget!
