homeboy, you do not have to press the Brake pedal to cycle your ignition button, the vehicle will change from ACC, to Run, without turning on the truck, if you do not depress the brake pedal. I have no idea, how you have 18,000 followers, DUH.. See Ya.

You dont have to actually START the engine - just press the start button until it is in the run position (do not press the brake).

Any that can be done for the smaller uconnect head unit below this trim level! It’s touch screen but not like this one. USB connection is in center console

Just hit start button twice without foot on brake will put you in run without engine running

On my 2013 ram 2500 5.7, you don’t have to answer to USB before you start it.

So to confirm, will this give me carplay so I can connect my phone directly?

You can have the vehicle in run mode without turning it on. Just press the start button without your foot on the break.

July 2020 - I have a 2015 jeep overland ( 28000 miles ) . I tried upgrading my system using UCONNECT. I downloaded the upgrade on to a stick. followed the prompts - the stick was put in the jeep, I started to upgrade but stopped on unit 11. we tried 3 times. it ended up affecting the battery. had to tow the jeep to the dealer. after a diagnosis ( $150) they told me I needed a new battery. this sucks. I was following the instructions . ~ JDS/CT

They want you to have the engine running so the battery doesn’t die in the middle of update .

I just did this with a usb sent to me by uconnect, which was a wonderful surprise ... it was seamless and only took around 21 minutes, went smoothly ... it was nice to recognize the various screens as it went along, thank you for posting.
