Thanks for this great summary! I can’t do body horror so I won’t be watching but was dying to know what happens. Ur narration is fantastic!!
ОтветитьThere were some things I was confused about with the details of the ritual so thank you.
ОтветитьWOW! This movie sounds insane! Thank you for this awesome review. Since I recently lost my Mom this movie might trigger me in a negative way. However, it sounds like a movie I would enjoy. I will let you know if I do watch it.
ОтветитьSo this is like a dark song + bobby from trilogy of terror but without the innocent kitty killing
ОтветитьIts like an artsy fartsy version of pet semetary
ОтветитьThank you SO SO much for spoiling the movie in such beautiful detail! I won't be able to watch it because I was a victim of an abusive foster system (and I think watching this would trigger a lot of bad memories), but I did truly want to see and understand this film. It means a lot that I was able to "experience" this by proxy through you, you did a fantastic and articulate job. Bless up king!
ОтветитьThanks for your review. I’m the kind of horror watcher who HAS to spoil it for myself before I watch something. I still always enjoy the movie.. but i was traumatized as a child with my brother and cousins locking me in a room with the exorcist playing and taking the remote so I couldn’t turn it off. It really scarred me for several years. Anyway, due to that, while I love horror I need to know exactly what I’m going to expect. It’s like reading the book before seeing the movie. You can know what’s gonna happen and still have a good watching experience 😂
ОтветитьDidn't watch this, but why the fuck would you post an ending explained before the movie even came out? That's some vulture type shit.
Ответитьgoated content
ОтветитьIf i had to describe my feelings of this movie with one word jt would be: Bleak
ОтветитьI was searching for a breakdown of the movie and couldn’t find any good content yesterday so glad this is here because the movie looks good, but I’m scared to watch it TBH
ОтветитьIt was fucking gnarly…trust me. You all will love it. Step up from Talk 2 me
ОтветитьSo I think the shot of the daughter at the end indicates that she wasn’t blind. I think Sally either knew about them early and fitted her house for Piper, then lied about it, or had something to do with the father dying in the first place.
She knew about Andy’s past, which might be because she was told, but could be because she handled their case. So when her daughter died and she needed another girl she remembered Piper. Piper was an easy target because of her disability but also her broken family.
Ahh finally, an in depth review! I listened to a couple spoiler free reviews and they both said they didn’t enjoy the movie because they felt the ending was too bleak. Now I understand what they mean. 😅 All Australian horror movies I’ve seen, excluding the Babadook, have gut wrenching endings. But this ending makes everything that came before it seem totally pointless. At least in Hereditary, the cult + Paimon wins! Nobody wins here. I think I’ll pass. 😬
Anyhoo, quality content my dude! You have the perfect set up and voice for this! Hope to see your channel grow ❤
Great channel and video
ОтветитьGreat breakdown overall, but I was really surprised you didn’t mention one of the film’s biggest reveals. After Andy is killed, Piper hears his voice calling to her and follows it, only to find Ollie/Connor standing there instead. That’s a clear indication that Andy’s soul transferred into Ollie, which explains why the final ritual fails: Laura thinks Cathy’s soul is still in the boy, but it’s Andy now. His presence in the vessel ultimately disrupts the ritual and saves Piper.
It’s subtle, but definitely intentional and adds so much weight to Andy’s arc. Just wanted to throw that out there in case others were wondering why Piper hears Andy after he’s dead!
So greatful for this video, I saw the movie at the scream unseen as well, but like Piper, I'm legally blind. Most movies have an audio description so I can use a device to tell me what is happening on the screen, but strangely, for a film about a blind girl, starring a real blind girl, they didn't put in the effort/budget for those of us who are vision I pared to actually be able to experience this one. Listening to your plot breakdown, I missed so many things, there is definitely a lot that is only visually communicated. Really disappointed in the people involved not making their film accessible, particularly due to the subject matter. Thanks for the video though, it really helps me make sens of the movie knowing all the things I missed out on.
ОтветитьThe movie doesn’t officially come out to the general public in the US until the 29/30th why you releasing a spoiler video ?
ОтветитьI wonder if the cult are going to be what links this movie to Talk to Me 1 & 2?
ОтветитьThe thought of how this demon is characterized is also gnarly. Vaguely reminds me of the demon from Helstrom. The one who was characterized by "consumption".
I think since Laura was do blinded by raw and maddening grief, were seeing a very sloppy posession/resurrection ritual. Im guessing with the videos she had, they at least were able to follow through. Laura couldnt. I think hearing three different voices just shows the demons straught cut and forward ability to actually mimic or "ressurect" the person. We only see bits of it though. Hence with Andy's voice peeping through and Laura's voice peeping through. Im not sure how much of Cathy was present, or even if the result wouldve been anything like how Laura expected.
Of course im just throwing my thoughts into this.
I also think the concept of this entire dybamic is frightening. This woman has an entire possessed child who she is trying desperately to keep intact. In daylight we're seeing this child decay and morph as the handful of days go by.
Even more so like a battle of griefs. Laura's grief being so violent and deadly compared to Piper and Andy.
You’ve earned my sub! I really appreciate how you handled this review. A lot of people actually want spoilers so they know what they’re getting into, and you delivered that perfectly. I respect spoiler-free reviewers too, but sometimes they dance around too much. This video was exactly what I needed—straightforward and honest. Thanks for the great content, now I’m off to binge the rest of your videos.
ОтветитьI’m so grateful for your breakdown of this movie! I have PTSD, and the suspense, gore, and jump scares in movies are often times too intense for me to enjoy the experience. That being said, there are so many amazing horror movies out there that sometimes I feel like I’m missing out by not seeing them. It really helps to know what I’m getting myself into so I can gauge if a film is something I can handle or not. I think this one definitely is, I’ll just have to be in a good headspace to handle something so bleak 😅. You definitely got a new subscriber, I can’t wait to go back and view your catalog as well as look out for new movie reviews.
Ответитьwhen did it come out 😮
ОтветитьThank you for this. Since I became a mother, I can no longer watch movies where children are harmed - it just crushes me - so I appreciate learning about the story this way!
ОтветитьI mean A24 doesn’t just do horror
ОтветитьI went home and had to take a shower!! I didn’t speak for like 30 minutes! Awesome film!! You also didn’t mention the “other thing” Ollie does when he is hungry lol
ОтветитьGreat video! So happy I found your channel.
ОтветитьDamn, I'm super impressed by how well you recounted everything in detail based off a single viewing. Can't wait to see this movie for myself when it releases here.
ОтветитьI appreciate the summary. The film sounds like it will be pretty unsatisfying to me because the supernatural elements don't seem very fleshed out, which is a bummer because that is what I often find to be the most interesting part in films like these. It sounds like the most interesting supernatural events, from the appearance of the "angel" to what the summoned entity actually looked like to the origins of the ritual, are not depicted, and the supernatural elements that are there simply serve to add some connective tissue to what is basically a story about the manipulation and abuse of children by a selfish woman driven insane by grief. You could probably get rid of the supernatural elements entirely and tell this same story with just a few tweaks to the plot as it seems more like a psychological thriller than a horror film.
ОтветитьThank you explaining ending, due to Ptsd I dont know if ill watch it. But really wanted to know the end. Will sub great review
ОтветитьBro awesome review!! 💯 I want to know what Im about to watch now being older so yeah man subbed for sure
ОтветитьI was floored by the Iceberg Slim reference, please accept my humble sub!!
ОтветитьNew sub here. Love your channel!
ОтветитьI feel bad for the demon. Seems like Laura should have been told to keep a whole cow around to feed it or something.
ОтветитьI LOVE spoilers because I hate being disappointed by plots going obvious or stupid places. When I know going in I like the story I can settle in and get invested…
ОтветитьI'm glad I watched this because Billy Barratt reminds me SO MUCH of my three boys and I felt awful watching him getting bullied as a kid in Invasion so IDK if I could watch that happen to him.
ОтветитьUnfortunately it doesn’t come out until June 5th here.
ОтветитьNew here and you rock man. You’re on my horror list next to deadmeat and foundflix. Great job 🔥
ОтветитьJay Bauman from RLM? I didn't know you had your own channel.
ОтветитьI feel so awful for Andy, he was dealt the short end of the stick for SO long. He was a good kid, hurt, neglected and suffering so much but still good despite it all.
ОтветитьYou are the only person to actually explain not only how you got to see it early but you tell us how we can do it in the future at our local theater with other movies. Subbed!!!
ОтветитьHave you seen Bring Her Back? If so, how'd you feel about the movie?
Ответить
