Johnny Cash!!!
ОтветитьI seen chris Knievel jump the grand Canyon years ago. I wasn't there to see this but I seen it on tv.
ОтветитьWe did the 3-day trip that is offered by the Auto Club with our young boys. It was so fun!
ОтветитьI'm going to go online to see how much the train ride cost!
Great video ❤
I wonder if people are expecting the GC RR views to be like the Durango- Silverton RR.
I took my children on a trip there about 2001, we stayed in Flagstaff and drove to the GC. The free shuttle bus ride to scenic points along the South Rim was one of the best parts of the trip.
After a long drive to reach Flagstaff, the train sure looked appealing to me, but I just couldn't afford it back then.
Some day I want to book the mule ride and overnight stay to the bottom of the canyon.
The ugly thing about the video is definitely the mask 😷😂, and rhe guy singing with the mask even worse , now , everything else looks cool , planing to go , satisfied with the price you pay ? For two people?
ОтветитьWhat’s up with the stupid masks , was that during plandemic?
ОтветитьWELL DONE, Enjoyed your presentation very much. We did the Dome Car package up and back, it was Great ! When the previous owners had the Grand Canyon Railway the Observation package came with Better food and more Entertainment. I Love that you added all of the Historical information about the Train and Area. Not many Vloggers do that. Thank you. 😊
ОтветитьGreat stuff. I do hope to make it back to the GC....haven't since we lived in Prescott when I was a lad. Would be cool to take that train.
ОтветитьThe iron horse the first trains got that nick name,,there are some very old trains in Perris California,, my very first trains ride was in 1956 when my mom and my brother and I got tired of living in Kansas ,,we had survived a huge tornado and I fell down some steps into a cellar and busted my chin open ,, after the tornado was gone ,,so was the chicken house and the clothes on the clothes line and momma said ,,, That's it ,,I am outta here ,,back to Grandma's in California ,,as the song goes ,, California here I come ,,, still enjoying your videos Steve and family and God bless you all
ОтветитьThanks for showing this one Steve. My wife and I made that trip in winter several years ago. It took me over 50 years to get around too it. When I was young I visited the canyon in the late 50;'s when the railroad was still operating. Liking trains I asked my parents if we could ride it. They said maybe someday. Well that someday didn't come until Feb 2006 but it was worth the wait.
ОтветитьYes because I’m not going until …❤
ОтветитьI had bought a nice bus tour package through the Grand Canyon and five other national parks over election week in 2020. I knew a year ahead of time Trump was going to cause violence and I want it to be in the middle of the desert when it hit! I just guessed the date wrong. But the pandemic canceled it, and I have never made it to the Grand Canyon. I'm too old and disabled to go now. Thank goodness for your videos, you're taking me all across the country! Thanks!!
ОтветитьBeautiful ❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьDo you have to pay the grand canyon entrance fee if you come in on the train?
ОтветитьThat train ride is pretty great, for sure! Going in the winter is probably the only time the coach seats would be just fine. In the hot summer, when the trains are completely full, it is more like riding a school bus with no driver monitoring. The time we rode up on coach, we immediately upgraded our seats for the return trip. By the way, they do have a steam train schedule, too, in case you come back - it is amazing! We have never done the observation, but the other upgraded seats are great! We did one trip where we stayed there at Williams, rode the train, stayed overnight and rode the train back the next day. Love all of your videos! You are a great story teller and now my husband is a subscriber, too. You make us want to jump in the car and go check out these places that are near us in Prescott, AZ.
ОтветитьI brought my whole family back in 2002 and loved it!!
ОтветитьWe did one way, then stayed overnight, then went back
ОтветитьLooks like a trip we need to take. Haven’t taken the train but would love it. Been to Grand Canyon many times but never on the train. Winter is the best!
ОтветитьCopper Canyon in Mexico is much better. Three times the size and deeper. The train is much better as well as cheaper as well./ A couple of my other favorites are the Guayaquil to Quito train in Ecuador and the train in Peru that goes over a 16,000 ft summit, the highest in the world. Both of those are booked up 2 years in advance. On par with the Orient Express in Europe. Private sleeper rooms. Gourmet meals.
ОтветитьI have lived outside the US for 11 years. I never return to the US as it is far too expensive and I do not drive so too hard to get around. Hotels in the US cost more for a night than 2 weeks in other countries. And food in restaurants around $3 per meal versus $25 or more in the US. A taxi in other countries is typically $3.50. And over $100 in the US. Even 11 years ago the homeless in the US blocked the sidewalks with their camps. And not at all friendly to walking.
I now live in Costa Rica where I rent a 7 bedroom/5 bath house with 4 car garage on 23 acres for $153 a month.
I often go to Mexico City and stay at a 4 star hotel with 2 king beds, Wifi, air conditioning, room service and satellite TV for $10.50 a night. For $15 a night a Jacuzzi room is available
19 degrees?? That's coat on but not zipped in Buffalo, NY!!
ОтветитьWhat month were you there
ОтветитьWhat month was this video taken
ОтветитьWe're coming from ga any advice on best routes
ОтветитьTaking the train to the Grand Canyon avoids all of the headaches of making reservations just to get into the park or waiting in line at the entrance. Ride the train up, spend the night, and take the train back the next afternoon. There are many tours available at the Grand Canyon that will allow you to see all of the major viewpoints and get a lot of information. There is no experience as good as riding in the dome. Do it at least one direction.
ОтветитьThank you for this video! I will be tralveing to Williams next month. Is the coach section seating assigned?
Ответить"What did the robber look like?"
"Well, sheriff, he was wearing a mask.......uh...."
ROFL
Okay I got to ride in the top done about a year ago for spring break and it was SOOO FUN
ОтветитьThis looks like a lot of fun! Do you know if you could have driven to the bottom with the snow there?
ОтветитьSome people like to put their hands in their jacket pockets to keep them warm, just a thought
ОтветитьThank you for your video I was across country truck driver never had time to stop and visit that area drove through it a lot if you ever get a chance drive on over to Flagstaff take the 89 highway North up towards the dam you get to see these side of the world over there looks mighty nice going up through there on the Red Rock canyon rim are you driving with it through there loaded almost to maximum nowadays older tired stuck living Pennsylvania and I'm originally from Texas and I'm missing that Southwest real bad and how thank you for the update on this I'm right now looking to see if Amtrak's got a train it'll take me down that direction heckle thing man retire and he ain't got a vehicle running worth of danger Go out and travel for a change let's say truck drivers get to see the world well we do but we're always in a hurry and have to keep the dispatchers happy in the customers happy
ОтветитьIf you're ever in northern New Mexico, go ride the train from Chama. Very beautiful.
ОтветитьI was there in march of 2022...dunno when this was.
ОтветитьThanks for the review! We went the third week of April 2024; saw elk and pronghorn, great weather. First Class option was a good choice. I'd do it again.
Ответить💯
ОтветитьThank you!!!! Love this!
ОтветитьBuck Fovid
ОтветитьGuess the scenery on the way back was not great since you didn’t show it.
ОтветитьBack to the past, Professor…
ОтветитьGood stuff Maynard!😂
ОтветитьWrite a book about it.
ОтветитьIf the train has lots of passengers, forget about grabbing lunch or anything else up at the Canyon. You'll spend 2½ hours standing in lines. The ride is fun, although the scenery is pretty featureless for most of the trip. The on board entertainers were pretty good. I'm glad to see the "robbers" are played for humor now - it felt more like a shake-down when played seriously by a guy with his hand on a gun "asking" for "donations."
ОтветитьBack in 2018, I took the dome car and on the way back to Williams, I rode in the last car and watched the ride from the platform on the back of the train. I'd gone with a small tour by van the first time so have done both and I very much enjoyed the train! It was March, so pretty cold then, too. I'll be going back next month and I'll actually spend the night on the South Rim!
ОтветитьReally appreciate your videos
ОтветитьWhere did you stay in Williams?
ОтветитьCoach has no A/C, so that is something to consider during summer.
ОтветитьWe went to the Grand Canyon for the first time in the fall of 2022. I cried the very first time I laid eyes on the Canyon, at the Ooh Ah point. I was that moved by the majesty before me. I did see the train and station, and was awed by the romance of their history. Great men and women before us had the foresight to preserve these wonders for future generations. I hope we live up to the honor of taking care of them for the generations that will come after us. ❤️
Ответитьthe annoying singing cowboys are enough to make me say no thanks
ОтветитьEnjoy your channel Big Guy, keep up the good work. Looking for you to visit the La Posada in Winslow if you haven't yet. Or the El Rancho out in Gallup, NM.
