First deck I started with and always kept around. Called him my bully deck since "why are you hitting yourself?"
ОтветитьI cant find link to deck list
ОтветитьNo Tainted Strike? You know..for the one potential board kill.
ОтветитьFate Unraveler as another instance of Nekusar/Underworld dreams didn't make the cut?
ОтветитьThere are some auras that works wonder with Nekusar, but I'll highlight a few of them : Sigil of Sleep is an Aura for a singular blue mana which says "Whenever enchanted creature deals damage to a player, return target creature that player controls to its owner’s hand". That's right, you can do boardwipes whenever you cast a wheeling spell.
Another aura to consider, at least for this version of the decks is Helm of the Ghastlord, which costs 3 and a Dimir (blue or black), which says "As long as enchanted creature is blue, it gets +1/+1 and has “Whenever this creature deals damage to an opponent, draw a card." and "As long as enchanted creature is black, it gets +1/+1 and has “Whenever this creature deals damage to an opponent, that player discards a card.” So not only do you draw cards whenever Nekusar deals damage, but you're making your opponents discard a card when they draw... Which is a more devastating effect than I realised.
what about peer into the abyss?
ОтветитьI run a suite of auras. Elder Mastery, sigil of sleep, helm of the ghast lord, curiosity. Slap one on Nek, fate unraveler, kederekt parasite, or creeping bloodsucker.
ОтветитьA video about my boy! I've waited so long.
Ответитьthe funniest thing i ever saw was a nekusar deck running hivemind for multi wheels, and ended the game by casting enter the infinite.
ОтветитьMe over here with my 1000 dollar Nekusar deck (granted one of the cards in there is Wheel of Fortune so that's a decent chunk of it) 😬😂
ОтветитьNekusar is one of my few decks I have built right now. Interesting thing though is that I win more by having people discard cards instead of drawing them. Megrim and Liliana's Caress out, and popping Memory Jar once does a huge chunk of damage, and I have a couple ways of doing it again. Also as a defensive tool I use Ensnaring Bridge, which seems counterproductive for the deck but few people are ready for it so it works more often than not.
ОтветитьA friendly reminder to anyone looking to build this deck, Nekusar will attract a ton of removal. Personally, I run Seizan, Perverter of Truth. Unlike Nekusar, he himself isn't a hate piece, he enables other hate pieces in your 99, and by building mono black, it's much cheaper to afford a decent mana base
ОтветитьNekusar is a huge pain in the ass for my playgroup. But it always makes for interesting games.
I love my Nekusar deck
This was really humbling for me to watch. As a modern player that moved to EDH because the play groups moved and grew more to the edh side I found it hard to switch off the I want to win button..I have won alot of edh games in my groups and it's starting to feel bad. Like you said no one wants you to win so you become the target but because of this you just make your decks stronger and still manage to win..I've only just built a deck that uses no tutors, infinite combos and auto wins. And played it last week. It actually felt really good, I done "the thing" and didn't win and still had lots of fun..maybe I caught myself just in time before I become the bad guy..I hope so..cheers for the cool humbling content Josh, Rachel, Jimi ❤
ОтветитьI think a new term should be made for effects like Nekusar. "Group Shrug"
I'm pretending to be group hug while I actually group slug and hope everyone will shrug it off.
I used to play a casual fun multiplayer deck that used spiteful visions, jinxed choker, sulfuric vortex, toil//trouble, and then as the surprise finisher, angel's grace to not die on my turn and watch as my enemies take tons of damage, that they can't lifegain out of in their upkeeps. it was surprisingly effective because almost all of the cards involved are "low threat" cards because they're fair and do damage to everyone.
ОтветитьI run a very similar list to this with Kess instead of Nekusar. While kess is a powerful commander, her as your commander doesn't tip your hand as early as nekusar does, meaning you don't draw the ire of the table till its to late and you have the pieces in place for the pain to start. In my experience, having nekusar is like waving a big flag that says: I am going to make drawing pain.
ОтветитьI was told by my friends I'm never allowed to make this deck.
ОтветитьThanks help added upgrades to my already existing
ОтветитьI really like the new format. Makes the parts of the deck much more clear and makes it easier to see how the deck works as a whole. Keep up the great videos!
ОтветитьI want this!!
ОтветитьI really like the format with the card price showing!
ОтветитьNekusar is brutal? Surprise surprise.
ОтветитьI run a nekuzar deck. Everyone hates it so I do t play it often. I love it though.
ОтветитьHey, Mitch! Thank you for teaching so many people about the Lich King. Nekusar is my favorite commander. I would like to mention a couple things. Harmonic Prodigy is an amazing creature to run in the 99 of this deck. It doubles Nekusar's triggers. So each player will then draw 3 cards on their draw step and take 2 damage for each card they draw. It drains the opponents much faster.
Sangromancer is also an amazing card to help stabilize. You will gain 3 life for each card an opponent discards, as well as for each creature they control that dies.
If you pair these 2 cards together, you actually gain 6 life because Sangromancer is a shaman and prodigy doubles the triggers of shamans as well!
Then, if you're lucky, you can cipher Whispering Madness onto sangromancer and Whispering Madness becomes a triggered ability of sangromancer, which prodigy can again double! I have pulled this 3 card combo off multiple times and when it doesn't kill everyone at the table, you are definitely ahead with an absurd amount of life!
Tcg decklists are so awful to view
ОтветитьTeferis puzzle box is fun and mirror made copying Teferis puzzle box. Makes life harder
ОтветитьI wonder if Howling Mine would work. Or maybe it's too much of a drawback, since you get the bonus draw last?
ОтветитьI never really thought of the wheel strategy. One card that would really work with it is the Library of Leng. For .36 cents and 1 generic mana, you can keep your cards.
Recap: it's an artifact that says you have no maximum hand size and whenever a source causes you to discard, you may choose to discard to the top of your library instead of your graveyard. If it's random, you can look at the card first.
Wheel, keep the cards you want and trade out the ones you don't need.
I love you are highlighting the old commanders
ОтветитьSolphim Mayhem Dominus is actually a really good card to have in this as well in my opinion, doubles the damage on those effects and even tho it's slightly more expensive than Nekusar himself, with this deck being so budget friendly I think it's a worthy addition with all the triggers we're going to have.
Also with the new secret lair coming out I'm tempted to include waste not in it and do some zombie tribal stuff. With the amount of discard triggers we're definitely going to be getting a couple zombies from Waste Not, then I would include cards that buff and multiply them like endless ranks of the dead, Death Baron, Liliana's Mastery or Bladestitched Skaab.
I’m about to building it, can’t wait to play it 😎
ОтветитьTwo cards that are a must have are thoughtsieze and prosperity. May not be budget friendly, but they are huge
ОтветитьI've watched a couple of these and the big card I think is missing is Black Vice. It's a one drop and colorless, plus your opponents are going to have a bunch of cards in hand and they will take the damage in their upkeep before they get to discard.
Ответитьa long time ago, a friend convinced me that Psychosis Crawler dies when Wheel of Fortune is cast, so I stopped using the Crawler. It was today when I finally learned that it does not actually die XD
ОтветитьWayfarer's Bauble is an awful card, you pay 3 mana to get a basic into play TAPPED, so you basically waste your first 2 turns just to ramp into a tapped basic... I'm sure there's a lot of better mana rocks out there
ОтветитьYou forgot niz-mizzet, parun I know cost a little bit more but worth having in the deck along with something to give lifelink to nekusar
ОтветитьI play nekusar in a very high level cedh pod at a local shop. This is a really great video highlighting a lot of good combo cards. I just wanted to mention that a lot of the cards you mentioned. Glint horn and psychosis crawler are 2 I can remember will go infinite or win you the game with 1 single other card and no commander. They are really great!
ОтветитьCan anyone tell me what's the name of the song at the end of the video??
ОтветитьJust add a proxied Sheoldred and this deck becomes a killing machine
Ответитьthis deck isnt disrespectful enough, add sheodred lol
Ответитьturns [Peer into the abyss] into an insta kill
ОтветитьBurning Inquiry is like, a dollar, and seems like a good way to make use of both Nekusar and Megrim effects - everybody draws three, and then discards three at random. Sure, the random discard aspect could harm you, but doing a potential 9 damage seems alright.
ОтветитьCan i get a deck list?
Ответитьwhere deck list??
ОтветитьWith release of Bloomburrow with all of its Gift Card creatures, could get even more vicious.
Ответитьthe pain ive felt from this has lead me here after a fortunate trade….im feeling evil
ОтветитьCuriosity is an amazing aura to run in the deck
ОтветитьGhyrson sta rn kelermorph is a great add to this deck (especially with anything that gives him lifelink) on every players turn they taking multiple instances of 1 damage turning all of them into lightning bolts
ОтветитьTCG: $37 on the low side!
Me: great! Add to cart🎉
TCG: that will be $149
