I really like the tone of telecasters for specifically a really heavily distorted grunge type music, like nirvana style, which is weird cuz that’s the exact opposite of country 😂😭

I had a friend who was a foreign exchange student at our school who had the opportunity to stay with us for 2 and a half years and a few months in, he bought a HS tele and you could always hear him cranking out some Deftones or Bullet For My Valentine or stuff like that on it. guitars sound really similar to me, but nothing sounds quite like bridge pup tele. big ups for all the math rock/emo nerds that have all the teles left in the world.

If you add a bit of grit to the tone and switch to the neck pickup you can get a tone really close to John frusciante’s live tone

Yeah even look at John 5 he only uses a telecaster and I don't care what anyone says John 5 is up in the top 10 for best guitarists of all time, my opinion

There’s a lot of fantastic guitar players in rock. For example Jonny greenwood and Jeff Buckley both are complete legends on that thing and they sound nothing like country. Honestly many guitars can do many things, not just one.

Any guitar works for any guitar style music. Everyone should know different genres for different guitars is nothing more than marketing bs. An exception might be that humbucker pick ups are more suited to heavier music.
