The part of brain that "controls" music, is the same part for language, so many musicians are multilingual.
Ответитьi love how marty friedman is just noodling while your talking
ОтветитьSmarty Marty Friedman!
ОтветитьShould’ve stuck with Dave and megadeth. Made the group so much better
ОтветитьFun interview
ОтветитьIm not a metal fan. But im in tune enough to recognize the technical savvy of these ax handlers
ОтветитьRick's got some street cred😄
ОтветитьNice guy, intelligent, open minded, fantastic musician. What is there not to like?
ОтветитьDoes anyone guess what amp was Marty using on this video ??? It seems that he simply played it with no pedals or processor in front of it
ОтветитьLove his Joie de vivre and passion. Emulate even a smidge kids!
ОтветитьTop# 100... Marty is #3....god bless...
ОтветитьHow is possible he is 62? He looks so young
ОтветитьIm new to mr.friedman..around min 38 he picked n flicked his strings? No? Flicked? Woww
ОтветитьThis interview has such an impact! I'm not a musician but a visual artist, and most everything you talk about has a visual analog. Be it color, line, shape, texture and the dynamics of how it is all assembled. There is so much to explore before representing a subject (words). So inspiring!
ОтветитьRust In Peace was really big for me in my younger years. Thank you Marty
ОтветитьNot being an afficionado, his playing reminds me of Robbie Robertson. Regardless, it's exquisite.
ОтветитьPure Gold!
ОтветитьThis guy added so many unexpected flavors to the world of music over the years and he also proved numerous times that with taste, you can basically mix every styles all together
ОтветитьKing! I have a framed picture from around year 2000 with Marty when meeting him in an alley in Stockholm Sweden the same day of his Mega Deth gig.
ОтветитьOU "of all places."
You're killin' me, Marty....
😢
✋
Ответить❤❤❤
ОтветитьMarty is so profound and...😂 When you are feeling yourself, nothing else matters😁
ОтветитьI've only been to a few concerts in my life excluding bars. Megadeth in Vancouver Canada with Marty as the guitarist one of the very few and i loved it. He looked at me as to why i did not mosh with the rest of them and just watched him and pushed the moshers away from me hehe. Loved the concert.
ОтветитьMarty using vox vtx ? 20 ?
ОтветитьThe lighting in this vid is brutal. Almost need a welding helmet to watch it. Great interview though.
ОтветитьMegadeth Inspired me to pick up the guitar then I heard speed metal symphony I told my myself never put it down … I was 14 at the time
Ответитьthe beginning of tchaikovsky's violin concerto there lol
ОтветитьMarty is a great player for THAT genre but I still cannot get past his asinine comments on Hendrix.
ОтветитьRick somehow all of your interviews leave something positive in my head and help me grow as a guitar player, your work is amazing.
ОтветитьMarty is such a modest guy. His talent is off the charts
ОтветитьI ditched a lot of metal musicians growing up. Still Marty's pieces thrill and move me like when I was a teenager. And still this man amazes me with his personality, creativity and curly hair.
ОтветитьThe best thrash metal guitarist of all time and one of the greatest guitarists period. Such a great interview.
ОтветитьI'm 34. How distorted guitar used to sound to boomers is how auto-tune sounds to me. Difference is the musicality though. Boomer bands were at least way more musical than what we have now.
Ответитьyou guys should look up his early stuff when he played with jason becker. he was so freakinig fast. band : cacophony 1986
ОтветитьWas Marty in standard tuning?
ОтветитьIt does not matter if you play like the CD couse is instrumental músic
Nobody learns all the notes corectly
Yea what i do is right a song and playit for months until i hear what realy is going on
ОтветитьThis!!!! Is fucking cool!!
Ответитьit is never lost on me how valuable these interviews are. Think of how many great musicians did NOT have such in depth interviews that let you take a peek under the hood and get a true understanding of the person, not just the music? Rick knows how to ask the right questions and get thoughtful answers you don't see in normal interviews. Thank you Rick your interviews never disappoint!
ОтветитьLoved this episode. When are you getting Alex Skolnick on your show
ОтветитьGonna catch Marty in about 19 days.
ОтветитьMarty’s licks are so killer but let’s take some time to appreciate his vibrato. Man it’s wonderful.
