This is a master class in acting! The way Rooney's face changes, softens, starts to smile without actually smiling...extraordinary. And the way Cate sees her, tilts her head ever so slightly as if in confirmation, then slowly her smile deepens, warms...remarkable.

Not only did this movie present extraordinarily beautiful music but two actresses who master the skill of acting so astonishingly well. It shall always be one of my all time favorite movies. The last scene fills the viewer's heart full of hope for those two and their future, it's just beautiful.

Those subtle smiles, they’re ever ever EVER, so small in muscle movement, but they both give the start of a happiness smile. What great acting.

Essa cena final ficou muito bonita ; muito bem feita! Mas algo ficou no ar. Será que Therese foi ao encontro de Carol para ambas ficarem juntas, ou ela foi apenas se despedir de Carol? Nunca saberemos né? Mas a vdd é que se amavam, mas aconteceu tanta coisa no meio do caminho, que talvez Therese tenha entendido que a história delas havia terminado mesmo quando Carol, naquela carta a libertou. Fica na nossa imaginação o que aconteceu 😮

Bloody fantastic movie in every way

Amazing movie. Seen it twice and loved it.

I was terribly impressed by the acting like most people but the cinematographer did a poor job of framing in my opinion and I also I am very disappointed especially this scene compared to the book I know the book is always better but it was such a waste of talent and skill of these marvelous actresses. Hopefully not too far off somebody else Will attempt it again. If you haven’t read the book …I don’t know what to say

I can't tell if they're smiling or if my eyes are distorted from all the tears.

I am horrified by this movie, women abandoning their men for other woman and in the 1950s, 2 things that hurt me deeply, women being in love with other women and ruining my perfect world. to me this is a horror movie.
